Today I became the owner of a disabled pet due to Vaccination-Associated Fibrosarcomas (ie cancer due to Rabies Vaccination). Even with this amputation surgery, we have zero idea of his prognosis for the future, but everything I read isn’t overly positive.
We pray we bought some time for him…and for us.
I guess I wasn’t sure what to expect in total, like how I would feel when I saw him. I felt terrible. Like I did this to him. I gave him this vaccine, I brought him to the dr, I picked him up. He saw me in his cage and did a flip around immediately, snuggling up to Charlotte’s face.
All appears to be forgiven.
He can walk, if you can call it that, but its more like a jump hop. He tires in about 3 steps and lays down.
The stitches are rough.
Scary.
The red you see is bruising and swelling.
He was grateful to see us and to come home. I am keeping him confined to this office during the day and in my bedroom with me at night until the 14 days are up to get his stitches out.
The first thing he did when I opened his cage was hobble to the window to gaze out.
And he purred.

What compelling pictures! With your permission, I am using Sebastian as my “posterchild” for the risks associated with low cost vaccines, as a way of increasing awareness of the importance of using instead the adjuvant-free lower risk vaccines I use in my mobile vet clinic.
May I ask what state you live in?
sure, you do have my permission. Sebastian passed in October.

I’m so sorry to hear he died. He was a beautiful cat and you clearly loved him.

Keep us posted on how he is doing. It looks like he is doing good so far. My heart hurts.
This brought tears to my eyes. I know things will get better once he heals up and gets his strength back. It’s just so horrible this happened at all from something that was suppose to keep him safe. I’ll keep the little one in my prayers. Give him a hug for me.
Bless his heart. I hope he recovers quickly and I know you did the best thing for him. Hugs to you.
This is so sad! Still can’t believe how careless they can be with the vaccines!
Poor baby! And his beautiful fur…..hope he recovers quickly. You did the right thing.
