A baby can get a bad haircut~!

It’s been quite a few weeks since little P has had a haircut. Like his daddy’s, Phoenyxs hair grows really fast and if we don’t keep up with it, he looks shaggy and his hair gets in his eyes. He has had 7 hair cuts prior to this one, so at 14 months old he is an old pro at the Barbers. Unfortunately his regular hair lady wasn’t in (yep, he has one!), so we randomly stopped into a kids hair salon. A place that I would think could handle a toddlers hair cut since they specialize in that.

She handled it all right.

She literally just took scissors and cut quickly, but with no definition or care. She cut off his sideburns, cut straight lines across his ears and thinned out the back of his hair with no direction. He has chunks that are just gone and the left doesn’t even match the right.

Do not be blinded by his handsomeness…his hair cut blows.

I know it will only be a few weeks before we can get it back to “normal” again, but whatever happened to pride in work? I can’t believe I PAID for this.

Just because he is a baby doesn’t mean he has to look like his older sister took a pair of blunt kitchen scissors to his hair.

I would go back and have them fix it, but I am afraid he may come out worse.

:/

  1. Wow i cut hair better than that! He is still damn adorable, though!

  2. i think you should share this on their facebook page~! https://www.facebook.com/smilznstylz

  3. He is adorable, you are right there. But wow, that is a bad haircut. I can almost understand if he was moving around and crying, but sitting still? There is no excuse.

  4. We use Pigtails and Crewcuts for my 3 yo and they do a great job, depending on the stylist & how much he fights. He HATES getting his hair cut. My 1 yo doesn’t have enough hair to warrant a cut yet…not even a “mommy-trim” –the hair in the back curls up off his shirt JUST BARELY and in the front it doesn’t even come to his forehead yet!

  5. I don’t understand how these people can’t be better at their JOB. His cuteness does transcend the hair though.

  6. Oh man! WTF? Good thing he is adorable bc they did a number on his poor hair. Good thing it will grow out!

  7. Aww…he’s so adorable, but yes that is a horrible cut. I would complain and get my money back if possible. But a buzzcut will fix that and he will be back to normal in a few weeks.

My husband has to get a haircut every 3 – 4 weeks…he’s like a live Chia Pet :(

  8. He looks so cute here that I couldn’t’ see how any cut would look bad. The other pictures did tell the whole story though. Still looks cute, I bet nobody will notice.

  9. Oh wow that is horrible. A kids hair place screwing it up that bad, that’s horrible. I would have refused to pay for hat.

  10. What the heck?! I might be a b**** but I would not have paid for that…I would have complained to the manager too! There’s no need to do a bad job, no matter how old the child is!

    • I would have spoken up too…. that being said, I am having the HARDEST time finding someone who can do a GOOD little boy’s haircut. My 3 year old has some similar issues going on right now and it’s driving me NUTS.

  11. It’s really sad how very few take pride in their work. And, wow, good thing P is adorable…

  12. I swore off those franchise “salons” when I got a bad haircut for both myself and my daughter. I would never go near a “childrens salon” the people who work there are not “stylists”
He still rocks a bad haircut lol. At least his hair grows quickly it will be less noticeable in a week or so. I just got my sons haircut a few days ago, his sideburns are uneven, she went too high on the back of his neck and the front looks like my daughter cut it, it so uneven, and the faux hawk top is so short in Te front and longer towards the back on his head. My usual lady was at a conference so I was booked with someone else :/ and picture day was the next day.

  13. I would at least go back and talk to the manager, and get your money back and tell tehm there emplyee needs to go back to beauty school.

  14. OMG I’ve totally seen that haircut…when I attempted to scissor cut my kids hair If it were me I’d probably use a long guard and see if I could even it out so with buzzers. Thankfully though it grows quickly but I agree its not a good cut. Someday I’ll be able tot ell people when they give my kids or I a bad haircut and refuse to pay for it. But so far I’ve never been able to.

  15. Oh my gosh. I would not have paid for that. Jeff took Owen to SportsClips and the lady totally butchered his fade (which is probably the most popular boy’s/men’s haircut and I swear NO one seems to do it properly). Thankfully SportsClips saw my tweet/post and helped make it better. You shouldn’t have to pay for a horrible haircut (even if P is extra adorable lol).

    • I just went afew days ago and got my sons haircut -it is hideous. yes your so right about the fade haircut. When I was on vacation in Michigan the barbers do it perfectly and it’s blended so well (every guy there has that cut) Here Omg it’s a nightmare everytime I take my son in for a “fade”

  16. I would definitely call and gripe to the manager (hopefully the manager didn’t do the cut) or go even higher!

P is a handsome kid, I am not sure people will notice his hair, but I understand your frustration.

Colin is almost 4 and EVERYTIME I get his hair cut, they cut off his side burns. I.HATE.IT. I don’t understand why they feel the need to do that?!

  17. What the heck did she do? I cut the boys hair myself with a buzzer.. thing. LOL. I think I do a darn good job. Though I bet just the scissors would be easier, less crying cause they aren’t freaked out. At least P’s hair grows fast!

    • He wasnt crying or fussing. He was just sitting there. He has had a lot of hair cuts. Its like she had ZERO training. Sadly we didnt see how bad it was till we were getting in the car and then we were like…umm…..

      • I meant my kids cry and fuss when I cut their hair. LOL. Probably from the buzzzzzing. Poor P… at least he can’t tell yet!

        • oh yeah, i could see that at home! Its so much easier to go out and do it cause you can distract them while they cut. At the kids place they have TVs, they sit in trucks..plus chris and i were both there. This should have been cake. Sadly he has a flight suit for Halloween. No respectable military man would have that cut. I am going to have to get it buzzed.

          • Ooh kinda like at the dentist for kids, they have tvs. I can see how that will help with distracting.. maybe I should just cut their hair in the living room so the tv is right there LOL.

Yeah a buzz cut would probably have to be done to match his costume. At least it’ll grow fast! I know my boys hair grows way too fast too.

  18. You’re right, that is just a bad haircut. I would tweet these photos to them and ask if you can get a discount when you take him in to have it fixed!
