A little of this…and a little of that…

Now that Phoenyx can walk a little, he thinks he has permission to do as he pleases….from breaking into my makeup to picking out a few things from the pantry, this little man believes the house is HIS and we are his servants.

Wipe me.

Feed me.

Kiss me.

Take care of me.

Fetch my 7 pacis that I tossed from the crib at 2am but now desperately want or I will NOT sleep….

Walking is a new fun adventure for P and one big fat headache for mom.

Speaking of P, he is growing like a weed.

At an impromptu Dr. meeting the other week, he weighed in at a whopping 25 pounds. Let’s not forget all he eats is fruits and vegis….and I may be guilty of slipping him a cookie or two, but he is just SOLID. And he is as long as he is everything else. He has to wear size 24 month one pieces or they won’t snap. I am constantly looking for clothes on sale. I cannot believe I am buying 24 months for my 10 month old. Actually I take that back. Charlotte was 24 months at a year old. What is it with my monster sized kids??!?!?!?

Speaking of new clothes, I got this email last week of this site called Wittlebee and you put the clothes on a subscription basis and have a personal shopper tend to you. Like you’re rich but it doesnt cost that much. It’s a cool idea because it seems every time I go to pull something out of the drawer I am finding it is int he wrong size. Taking shopping off my list is one more thing that clears up time to…oh….clean this insane house. The people over at Wittlebee let me test out how it works (total disclosure: this was a free sample). I filled out what I thought Little P’s style was, his sizes, and sent it off….about 4 days later he got a box of clothes that were so cute.

You tell me, did they get it right?

Each box comes with 6 items based on your survey and you can talk to a personal stylist as part of it if you need to get really specific with sizes.  At only $39.99 a box, that’s less than $7 for each item!! Not bad for avoiding the meltdown and looking for sizes all over a store. It’s totally worth the click over to check out ——>

SHOP HERE!

Let’s see…what else is going on around here.

On fathers day I lost my computer. Like kaput. Virus city. Its now under my desk collecting a pile of dust and cat fur on it. I have got to get it into a shop to see if it can be salvaged. The chick over at Best Buys Geek Squad pretty much told me it would cost me more to sign up for their Geek Squad stuff than to buy a new computer. Figure that out. I had to have one, so I bought a new one. It totally ruined my fathers day. Even though I am the mother.

Oh, and right now I am decorating.

I keep looking around and it feels like I live in someones dorm room in my house.  You know how it is…a collection of non matching bed sets, curtains, random furniture, and then you throw up a picture on the wall to “personalize” it. That was my long way of saying…I really need to get focused around here. Last month I manged to sucker my spouse into repainting the bedroom and bathroom. Yesterday I finally went and got some matching bedding. I realize why people don’t do it. Its just flat out expensive. You change one thing and everything needs to change.

I mean….. do I actually live in this room? YIKES.

Just to remind you, my son lives here…..

and I sleep in this….

What gives?

I am not ready to do a whole reveal yet, but here is the direction I am going:

Last, but not least, we bought a new car! We shopped and shopped and shopped and shopped some more. We finally settled on this Hyundai Sonata. Its turbo, limited edition, all the bells and whistles. My husband actually wanted a Kia Optima,  but we could not find the color we wanted and the sense of urgency at the dealerships to help us was about a zero.

Even though we were preapproved and ready to buy in a week.

Oh well. Kias loss.

So now that I have caught you all up…..what is going on your world?

  1. Love all the photos of little P, especially the “censored” one – TeeHee
Your bedroom is just like mine, I so want to redo mine, even if it’s just a new paint color. We did buy new sheets, but, as you said, haven’t been able to get all new bedding because of a cash flow problem… but it’s on our list for very soon. (Not to mention we don’t want to spend that much on a set when all 5 dogs sleep with us in our bed – UGH!)

  2. Congrats on the new car! You just bought a car from the same company. The sonata and the optima are basically the same car with some tweaks. Hyundai and Kia are the same company as they merged :)

  3. Just wanted to say i love how real you are most people wouldnt post pics of their bedroom unless it was spotless. Love it! And liitle p is just too darn cute

  4. If I won the lottery you can style my house anyday!

  5. Can’t help but love the censored picture! My daughter has done that way to many times!

  6. I love Wittlebee! Although I need to cancel Landon’s subscription he has way too many clothes now for the summer. I may switch it to Hunter so he can get some stuff, then switch it to the baby when the baby comes. How fun!

    P is adorable as always.

can’t wait to see your room!

  7. Amazing how life goes when your baby gets mobile. He’s as cute as ever. Can’t wait for your bedroom reveal, it’s nice to have a space to sleep in that you actually like. I love the new car, so so pretty!

Life is uneventful but great here! I graduate from ultrasound school in 2 weeks and am working as an ultrasound tech as of the end of June. The pay is much higher than any other job I’ve ever had, and I actually really enjoy it.

My boys are getting big and I time seems to just be going so fast. My older will be starting 1st grade next month and my other one will be in his second year of preschool.

We are headed to Disney for a week next month and I am so excited. Hubby is great and everything else is good. Life is treating me well, I can’t complain!

  8. Awww P is so adorable!! I think they did an awesome job on that outfit :-)

  9. Wow! I have so much going on. The kids are alright, Jason is doing well in camp which is good since he struggles a lot socially being a mini bossy version of myself. Spencer is having some issues in daycare but they are working themselves out so I’m trying to stay out of it. Tim is traveling a lot which is always hard but we’ll work through that as well. I’ve started this amazing global awareness campaign with a handful of other bloggers which is being co run by Marianna from the blog Marianna and it’s called BloggersInspiringChange.org. We are so excited about it. That’s about it.

  10. I finished the first draft of my book! I was hoping to go see my husband in S. Korea in a few weeks, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Space A travel is just not as easy as the recruiters make it seem! Which of course we knew…

Sounds like you’re summer has been busy. Good luck with the redecorating. It is a lot of fun to put your mark on your home in a way that says “you”.

P…He’s just so precious, a handful, but precious none the less!

  11. Oh my, P is getting so big! He is just so adorable! We’re thinking about getting a minivan – gag me. that’s about as exciting as it gets!

  12. P is so cute!!!!
What’s going on here? Not much, just got back from traveling to Canada, then to Chicago, then back to Canada then home… Getting ready to leave for Florida next week, I am just so overwhelmed with everything right now! Just had to deal with Lice on my child, that was NOT fun especially with all of her curly hair.. ugh.. So I’m still getting over that as well.. Other than that, life is good, I head to a Dairy Farm on Friday for a bloggy trip, I have another KIA coming to me next week to take us to Florida and back…. And I’m hoping after all this work that I’ll actually get a chance to ENJOY our vacation…

  13. Still setting up the new house. We’re unpacked, so are in the organization phase of hanging pictures and getting the storage crates from the garage into the attic. A couple more weekends.

I just found a great desk at a thrift store – modern glass and steel – for $50. Looking forward to getting this piece of particle board crap out of my office and making it pretty, organized and inspirational. Hope to blog about it, too.

Waiting for new refrigerator and washing machine to be delivered from Best Buy. Then another week of them sitting in my kitchen before the installation. Couldn’t manage it any other way due to a trip to Iowa to learn about soy foods. My kitchen will look like a warehouse but I won’t be there to “enjoy” it.

Then the Salvation Army is coming to pick up furniture and clothing donations – but not until August 8. Nothing gets done quickly here in GA. Still working on getting cable fully functional and trying to get the vehicles registered, too. Moving is a pain, but I love our new home.

    And then there’s BlogHer…

  14. P is such a model! Keegan (who is now in the 5th percentile of weight and height) was 25 pounds at 12 months old. His ROLLS had ROLLs back then. Now he is scrawny as heck. :) But Lochlan, the “little” brother has caught up in height and is 4 pounds heavier. I know what you mean by solid. Lifting that kid is like lifting a barrel.

After seeing a Kia my ex drove back in HS and all the trouble it had, I could never go that route. My husband has a Hyundai Elantra – Limited with bells and whistles like your Sonata. I LOVE it. I would want one myself, if I didn’t need to have the “bigger” vehicle. Hyundai is coming out with a new SUV next year that is supposed to be roomy and with great mileage. Otherwise I want a Ford Explorer. Those are sweet!

New here… my husband updated our kitchen to help sell our house and it is so fab that I almost don’t want to move. It even has built in appliance drawers, double deckers. Insane! It came from Lowes. So we ordered the cabinets, but installed ourselves. That’s our big news.

    • We own a Ford Explorer too…lol. Its my favorite, favorite. When i replace it, I am going to just get another one. The new ones are fantastic. I do think Kia has come a long way in the past few years…hyundai and kia are the same company actually.

I dont think that P will ever be in low percentage. Charlotte was 110% since she was born…at her age she is still like 55 pounds. SOLID.

      • I don’t think P will drop either in percentage. Keegan was just very chubby, with a Hispanic great-Grandmother thinking he wasn’t eating enough when I was at work and she took care of him.

I agree that Kia HAS come a long way – but first impressions… ya know!

And the new Ford Explorers ROCK! I am so drooling over them! LOL. Gotta bring wipes every time we test drive. ;)

  15. My daughter turned 19 today!!!
I’m learning all the ends and outs of blogging.
Helping my daughter prepare for her baby.
Getting my youngest son ready to go back to school.
    Love your craft tutorial.
    P is so cute.

  16. The boys are keeping me busy, that is for sure. They have swim lessons 4 days a week at the lake so my week consists of a lot of chauffeuring them back and forth and then chasing the 2 year old around the lake while we wait for lessons to be over. Mommy is tired.

  17. Oh goodness that baby of yours is just sooooooooo cute!! Can I have him??? Just mail him to me until my baby comes, okay? As for things going on in my life, lots has been happening (I am sure you have seen it all on FB, LOL). But right now? T hings are GOOD!!!!

  18. I can’t believe how fast P is growing! He’s SUCH a cutie! You’re in big trouble when he gets older! Nice car!

  19. I feel like I am spending money left and right getting our house market friendly ,.. It was listed today. Sigh… Just ready for it all to be over.

P is freaking adorable and that outfit is awesome. Love that style!

  20. P is such a cutie – I love those Wittlebee clothes!!
What’s going on with us – we just returned from an almost 3 week trip to Washington and coming home to hot Phoenix weather is exhausting. Life seems so busy sometimes (like right now, post-vacation) but really we’re just doing swim lessons, hanging out with friends, trying to stay cool, and preparing for my first-born to start kindergarten in a few weeks!!

  21. Oh my goodness, P is ADORABLE! Oh, and can I move into his room?

  22. I finally gave birth to the surro-baby, so now I am trying to recover as quick as possible and juggle the four boys during the summer. Truthfully, I am trying to survive lol. I am headed off to NY in a few weeks, trying to get an appointment to have my 8 year old evaluated before school starts again and gearing up for my first year of homeschooling my 10 year old who has a learning disability. Other than that, life is peachy. :)

  23. I LOVE the idea of clothes just appearing!
P’s bedroom is ADORABLE!! I can relate with the master being “dorm-like.” Mine is a mish-mash of things I like. I love the lamp you’ve picked for your room!
Your new car is beautiful! Are you enjoying it?

What’s going on here? … On Thursday we will be getting a dog – for 10 days (we are sitting on the dog for friends). We are taking care of back-to-school shopping. And I am trying to find a new theme for my blog.

  24. I can’t wait to see your new room.
I just spend a whole Mom’s Night Out with Residence Inn and am now gearing up for Cub Scout Camping trip, BlogHer and Family vacation in a 2.5 week span. eek!

  25. I LOVE that last picture of P! Gorgeous! I’m just paying off bills trying to get ready to buy an RV next year and travel with my daughters. Daunting task, I say, but I’m looking forward to making this adventure work!
