Let’s face it -the economy is not great right now and who wouldn’t want to cut a little money of their monthly bills. I think everyone is looking for a way to save money for the big “what if’s” in life.I was given the chance to review A Month of Meals eBook, and I was excited to give it a try. I am already big on using coupons, but I still feel my grocery bill is a little steep and I cringe when I get my total amount each week.
With A Month of Meals you can discover how to save hundreds on your grocery bills ( of course this depends on the size of your family) , reduce dinnertime stress ( and I am sure a lot of us sit in the morning and wonder what we are going to make for dinner, heck some of us might be thinking about this right up to dinner) , and it also helps with idea’s to make dinner time more about family. This e-book offers fast and easy recipes for yummy meals, gives you complete shopping lists, and tips to make dinner easy!!
I printed this book out and got right into it. I wanted to make sure I was giving this a full month review and I was determine to use every tip I could that I could work into my family to safe that extra money, time and my sanity!
The meals are really good and kid-friendly, although some I was unable to make because I have yet to introduce sea food to the two younger boys. I just added one of my cheap yummy meals that I know the monkey’s already enjoy, to my personal menu.
Here are a few of my families favorite meals that are listed in this book:
- Veggie Wraps
- Quesadilla’s
- Chicken Saute
- Spaghetti Pie
I recommend this ebook to anyone looking for great money-saving meals and I have the proof. We are a family of 5 and in one month I was able to cut my monthly grocery bill by over $100.00. My family spends up to $600.00 a month on groceries and my goal, now that I have read this book, is to get it down to $475.00. Taking the tools I have learned, and my love of coupons, I think I can make it work!

[...] Month of Meals #68 [...]
Check the sale ads and combine sales with coupons
Always bring a list with you (especially if you are bringing kids or husband) and stick to the list!
One thing that helps us out..I have a monthly menu. We go shopping for the whole month and that is it! If you only shop for the month then you end up not buying not needed items and spending more. Then we just go back to the store once more for milk or veggies!
Look up how to freeze items..I can’t tell you how much money we have saved buying tortillas or cheese or other items that freeze well, when they were super cheap.
Always look for Double Coupons day..be careful though because you may think you are getting a deal leaving the store paying 100 dollars instead of 300 but you may have been able to spend that 100 at a cheaper place.
I try not to shop on Mondays…the stores are always low on things from the weekend and you may end up buying a higher priced item. I like to shop on Tuesdays or Thursdays because they are stocked up for the sales that start on Wed. or for the weekend.
If you have a local grocery store..always check out their prices..a lot of times they are having really good deals to try to make up for the bigger stores.
Always shop around..it is nice when you have a newspaper because then you can see which stores have the cheapest items that day! I can’t tell you how many times Walmart will have their mac and cheese and soup for super cheap and Winco has them super high in price.
never buy name brands…the local store brands are just as good and usually cheaper!
We spare out our meat..there are a lot of meals that taste just as good only using a 1/2 lb of meat rather then the whole lb..like spaghetti!
We only buy fresh fruits and veggies that are in season. I refuse to buy $5 pints of strawberries in January!
We buy what is on sale and freeze what we can for later use, even cheese!
Coupons, coupons, coupons!!!
I eat a lot of the same things, but I always switch up the spices to keep the roommates interested!
There are some great online helps for your shopping…
The Grocery Game lets you try their service out for $1…and I know there are others like: Emealz…
Menus, coupon hints…these types of sites are great for saving you time.
Buy whatever meat is on special in bulk and do a freezer cooking session….ground beef on sale…
brown up several pounts….
some leave plain
some add chopped onion
some add taco seasoning too
some add italian season…
etc
Label your freezer bags with what seasoning you have added.
Then when you are ready for taco night…or a pizza…casseroles…etc the meat is browned and seasoned and ready to go!!!
I can’t stress the couponing thing enough….but check to see what the rules are at your local grocery as some of them will only take a certain amount of online coupons. I found that out the hard way with a fist full of coupons and a full cart….not a pretty moment!!! LOL
Great giveaway!!!
