coversmallLet’s face it -the economy is not great right now and who wouldn’t want to cut a little money of their monthly bills. I think everyone is looking for a way to save money for the big “what if’s” in life.
I was given the chance to review A Month of Meals eBook, and I was excited to give it a try. I am already big on using coupons, but I still feel my grocery bill is a little steep and I cringe when I get my total amount each week.
With A Month of Meals you can discover how to save hundreds on your grocery bills ( of course this depends on the size of your family) , reduce dinnertime stress ( and I am sure a lot of us sit in the morning and wonder what we are going to make for dinner, heck some of us might be thinking about this right up to dinner) , and it also helps with idea’s to make dinner time more about family. This e-book offers fast and easy recipes for yummy meals, gives you complete shopping lists, and tips to make dinner easy!!
I printed this book out and got right into it. I wanted to make sure I was giving this a full month review and I was determine to use every tip I could that I could work into my family to safe that extra money, time and my sanity!
The meals are really good and kid-friendly, although some I was unable to make because I have yet to introduce sea food to the two younger boys.  I just added one of my cheap yummy meals that I know the monkey’s already enjoy, to my personal menu.
Here are  a few of my families favorite meals that are listed in this book:
  • Veggie Wraps
  • Quesadilla’s
  • Chicken Saute
  • Spaghetti Pie
I  recommend this ebook to anyone looking for  great money-saving meals and I have the proof. We are a family of 5 and in one month I was able to cut my monthly grocery bill by over $100.00. My family spends up to $600.00 a month on groceries and my goal, now that I have read this book, is to get it down to $475.00. Don’t forget to freeze! Making and then freezing your own chicken stock, for example, is a great way to save–plus I think it tastes better.

  10. shari says:

I organize our recipes based on protein–so if chicken is one of the great sales of the week, I look through all of our chicken recipes and plan at least 2 dinners and a couple of lunches with that protein.

  11. shari says:

I always plan our meals based on the loss leaders which are the advertised products on the grocery store fliers. Protein is usually the biggest cost so if chicken is advertisd on sale on the front page, then chicken is what we eat!

  12. shari says:

We always make a menu plan for each week–knowing what you are going to make for the week makes it less tempting to order take out or go out to eat (which is definately more expensive)

  13. Shannon says:

We use coupons they print with our receipt at our local store. Sometimes they will print a $5 off $50 coupon and a free item coupon and a few baby coupons (such as $2 off $10 purchase of baby food of any type). We will combine all of this then go and use them when they are have Combo Loco deals (where you buy one item and get a bunch free such as buy fajita meat and get free grated cheese, sour cream, tortillas, beans, coke and salad). Doing this can save a good bit of money!

  14. use vinegar for your cleaning…it is much cheaper than buying all the different cleaners and works very well.

  15. compare unit cost not price per box. Just because you can get a box of 24 for X amount and a box of 16 for X amount, the box of 24 is not always cheaper.

  16. The prime spot, and also the expensive spot is eye level on the shelf. Look up and down by the ground for items to try and find the best deals.

  17. write out a grocery list and remember to bring it with you and stick to the list.

  18. Plan your menu…I do anywhere from a two week menu to a monthly menu

  19. sign up for the store cards.

  20. Another way to get free items is when a store has the item marked one price but it rings up as another. If the price is high, usually you get the item for free. Or in my case, in michigan you get the michigan scanner law which gives you 10 times the amount that it was over up to 5.00!
