“Affordable Family Holiday Destinations” Isn’t an Oxymoron

Choosing a holiday destination to suit the entire family can sometimes be a struggle, but these three options all demonstrate that you can give your kids a fun, enriching holiday (and give yourself a break as well!) without losing sleep over the bills. This past year we took a cruise and just last week I went on a vacation to Pigeon Forge to check out the sites there! I think holidays and vacations are so important to your well being.

Majorca

This Mediterranean gem has been attracting holidaymakers for decades, and continues to thrive as an excellent choice for families looking to find that perfect mix of sun, sea and sand. Cheap holidays to Majorca mean access to a wide range of family-friendly facilities as well as beautiful beaches and an attractive island atmosphere – companies like Thomson offer family-friendly resorts with childcare and activities for children.

National and State Parks

Keeping the family entertained on holiday needn’t mean spending a fortune on expensive theme parks or activities. North America’s national and state parks are still one of the most rewarding destinations you can opt for, with parks along the gulf and around the nation offering access to fresh air, incredible natural scenery, and the chance to spend time away from the distractions of everyday life. National parks can have entrance fees (although they are generally low), whereas state parks are usually free.

Cities

Visiting the world’s great cities is perfect for a cultural, enriching vacation, and places like New York, Chicago and New Orleans offer activities to entertain the most demanding of families whilst still catering for those on a budget. It can be tempting to skip museums and aquariums due to entry fees, but there are often discounts for students, families, groups and the elderly, and online discount vouchers can cut a big chunk out of the price.

Whilst these are just a few options, taking the time to choose a holiday for you and your family should mean that when you do decide on your destination, you’ll have done all that you can to ensure that you’ll have the best time you possibly can. As the year closes, make sure you take time for yourself and your family and realize that work can wait. The memories you make are worth it all!
