A few weeks ago I was in Sephora, which I never get to go to since its an hour from here, and it was my super-duper lucky day.
They put out three makeup kits they found in the stock room, the Sephora Collection worth $150, for only $29.
This kit has 5 separate sets that each carry 10 colors of eyeshadow, 1 blush, and 2 lip glosses a piece. It also comes with a carrying case to add an individual section on the go for your purse.
Each look has its own unique name and color array (I took this from the website):
- - Dinner in Paris: Grays and blacks
- - Coffee in New York: Browns
- - Shopping in Milan: Purples and pinks, green
- - Tango in Buenos Aires: Blues and greens
- - Clubbing in Tokyo: Baby blues, pinks, and yellow
It took me about 2.3 seconds to scoop it up, add some Philosophy bubble bath that gave me critch, and brought it home.
On my trip this weekend, I grabbed it off my bathroom counter, closed it up, put it inside an additional makeup bag, and then put that bag inside my suitcase.
On arrival to my destination, guess what I found?
A mess, that’s what.
An entire blush knocked out, several eye shadows busted, and all the tiny pieces were ingrained inside each of the lip glosses so much so that I had to dig them out with Kleenex.
You see that picture on the far left, right above the blush? That dark section there was white/clear. Now its a cross between black and brown lip goo.
Aside from being terribly sad, can I claim this at the airline?

We actually bought a huge bottle of Jagger in CA and my hubby put it in his luggage without wrapping it. I told him he was insane and it would break into a million pieces and alcohol would be all over the place. I even bet him…I lost. i couldn’t believe it.
How SAD. That is some really nice makeup!
What a mess
I NEVER FAILS I get that little paper in my luggage that they have “inspected” my stuff…. that just drives me nuts cause literally it has been EVERY time. I understand why they do it but jeez.
I would be furious, and absolutely call and complain.
This is one of the reasons why I don’t check luggage.
That sucks but is all too common. Even with bubble wrap on our stuff we’ve had things broken in the luggage before, had things pulled out of bags then just shoved back in the suitcase. It’s ridiculous.
