Anyone else have a sassy kid?

img_0285I don’t know what the heck happened to my sweet and innocent little baby. But I swear Reagan has turned into such a little one with such a big attitude and its horrible. It seems like she’s lost her manners and all respect for me and Jamie.

Is this normal? Will it ever change, because I won’t be able to deal with this for a long time.

OMG! Karen, I thought I was the only one who dreams of the terrible twos as the golden time! The threes are WAAAAAAAAAAAYY worse than the twos!

How come no one ever tells us about that one? My husband has named them the triple threat threes! Walking, talking & attitude!

My daughter will be 4 in March & she has been a smart~ass since the day she was born!

But in the last few weeks it has become way less cute & more sass. She yells “I AM doing “X”! I tell her not to jump on the couch because she could fall or break something & her response is “But I didn’t!”

I tell her to do something, anything & the answer is “No”. I think the next thing is soap in the mouth. Timeouts do not work for her. Taking away cherished toys/objects will not phase her.

Those books “The Happiest Toddler on The Block” & Super Nanny’s rules are laughable. I dare them to spend three days with my Diva. They will be in the corner rocking back & forth & crying for THEIR Mommies!

This is why I named my blog “Last Shreds Of Sanity” because that is about all I have left of mine. The fact that she is highly intelligent doesn’t help matters much, either!

Oh, and she can be very polite when she wants to be…or when she is trying to impress a new person. (This is why many people don’t understand my losing my mind over this sweet little girl of mine. I always tell them to take her for a couple of days, then tell me if they still think she is so sweet & innocent!)

She even charmed the wait staff a Chili’s restaurant the other night so well that they gave her a coupon for a free meal!! Yep, she’s only 3 3/4 years old! That’s my girl!

oh yes. Alyssa is the same way. SO SO SO sassy. I was so upset at Disney with her when she wanted these hannah montana glasses I did give in but boy if we were at home I would have put her in the car and drove home!

I’m not sure if they grow out of it. No matter how hard we try, our 7yo boy acts like a 13yo PMSing girl! There are some days I want to rip off his head and spit down his neck. My hope is that if we’re consistent, he’ll outgrow it eventually. If not, I might have to ship him off to military school for his own safety.

I forgot to say that the terrible 3s are much worse than the terrible 2s. You have to pick your battles or else you won’t have enough energy to face the terrible 4s. ;P

I don’t know what to tell you without scaring you. lol For me I think from the time they are 2 or 3 until they are…I dont know…20 it’s gonna be a constant test of patience. But you will have good days! Seriously though, at some point they will understand (after numerous time outs and toys being taken away) that their attitude gets them nothing but trouble! Good luck…I have 3 like that! lol

Jake just turned 5 and he’s like Hitler ordering everyone around. And the WHINING and the COMPLAINING…ugh!

Some days we are just at our wits end.

Yet when he is at school or like when our neighbor took him and their daughter to story time with Santa, he was a perfect angel.

    I hope it gets better!

My son is about to turn 5. I know we’ve taught him right because he is perfectly behaved at school and anywhere outside of the house. At home though, he seems to leave his manners at the door and doesn’t care how much he is corrected. He knows he is loved unconditionally, so he just pushes and pushes the limits. From what I hear, I think it will get better by the time he turns 30. LOL!!

The day Ashley turned 3, it started with her. She’s now 11, and there are still days when I want to rip my hair out. She’s as sweet as pie for anyone else, but it seems she thinks she can sass back to me whenever she wants. Nothing works with her, and I’ve tried it all. I truly fear the day she becomes a teenager.

Lucy is 2 and is already testing the waters.

It’s all payback. I was a horrible child, and I’m being paid back double for it.

I’m not sure how old Reagan is but I can assure you that it has happened to us all at one point or another. As our dear pal Barney Fife would say “Nip it in the bud!” We are to the point that the “are you kidding me?!” look is all it takes to get an apology out of Mo and a new attitude. What ever discipline works for her, apply it as soon as the words or action happen and you’ll have it under control. Gone? No. But at least she’ll get the point when you give her “the look.”

Congratulations Momma! You just entered PMS training camp!
