Trisha asked that I write a small article in order to introduce myself to the MomDot readers.  When I sat down to figure out what to say, I drew a complete blank.  Because my husband loves me (I think), I asked him, “What makes me interesting?  What would people want to know about me?” To which he replied:

1.  Tell them about the time you escaped from a Turkish prison.

2.  Tell them about the time you were frisked on the hood of a police car.

3.  Tell them how you trained in the circus as a fire-eater.

4.  Tell them about how you laugh hysterically at the Wendy’s “Where’s the Beef?” campaign.

Obviously, he is not helping, however, one of those is actually true, but that’s a whole other post for another day.  I think I’ll just stick to the facts.

My name is Bridgette, but my close friends call me “B” either because it’s a term of endearment, or they are just to lazy to say the whole word.  I am 34 years old and am happily married to the above mentioned (obviously crazy) man for 8 years.  We have two daughters, Lily who is 3.5 years old and Aubrie, who is 7 months.  Our happy family lives in a suburb of New Orleans (born and raised).

I work outside the home full time as a Biological Lab Technician.  My main objective at work is biological control of the Formosan Subterranean Termite (are you still reading this?  I know it sounds boring, but I love it!).   As you may have seen, I am a dork, proven by the Dottie Award I won.

In my spare time (ha!ha!), I am a dance instructor.  I have taken over 30 years (gasp!) of dance classes and have even taken a few classes from Mia Michaels and Dan Karaty (from So You Think You Can Dance).  I also was a member of a competitive dance team and later became the Director and Choreographer.  Currently, I teach an advanced tap class, but I have taught jazz, lyrical, and ballet in the past.  Dance has been a HUGE part of my life!

So, how did I end up on MomDot?  After the birth of my first daughter in 2005, I joined an online Mommy group where I met Trisha.  We have had the opportunity to meet several times and our families have become close.  When Trisha opened MomDot, I offered to help in any way I could, but I knew very little about blogging.  I decided to give it a try and opened my personal blog, The Not-So-Blog Blog, mainly for the purpose of winning prizes! LOL!  But, I have grown to love blogging and have made some great new friends.

Finally, here are 10 questions Trisha wanted me to answer:

1) What is one word that describes your personality? Sincere

2) What legacy do you want to leave your kids? I want to instill confidence in my two daughters.  I want them to know that they can accomplish anything and that hard work and perserverance will get them there.

3) What is one thing in college that you regret? I wish I would have not taken life so seriously.  Grades meant more to me than they probably should have.

4) When was the last time you embaressed yourself? When I posted that picture of myself in a lab coat on MomDot!

5) How did you meet your DH? We met in the 6th grade.  He sat in front of me in Social Studies class.  We started dated when we were juniors in high school, and the rest is history!

6) How did you meet Trisha? I met Trisha in an online Mommy forum in June of 2005.  Since then, we have had the opportunity to meet several times.  We have a great time and our families get along wonderfully as well!

7) What is one thing that surprises you about having kids? I am surprised by the amount of patience I have developed since having kids.  As a young adult, patience was definitely NOT one of my better virtues.

8 ) Do you have close friends? YES!  I have 3 very close girl friends.  They mean the world to me.  I am really blessed.

9) What are your top 3 favorite websites? Of course, I love MomDot.com.  I also visit Sephora and Nola on a daily basis.

10) What do you want for Christmas? I would love a SLR camera!  My husband and I joke that we should get a hotel room for 2 consecutive nights.  The first night, I can have the room to myself and sleep as late as I want and he will get the second night!  LOL!

So, that’s me.  Just call me, “B“.  Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
