Well, its one more day till baby.
I woke up to some texts from some friends today on how excited they are and one said its like riding a bike…a big expensive bike that cries. Reassuring.
So around here we are scrambling, getting all the last minute, well, everything, together. The swing was finally put up (and man, its so gorgeous. I want to thank all my blogger friends again for sending that to me) and working excellently thanks to my stock of Rayovac batteries that I can depend on.
I dug out Charlottes 6.5 year old “Nighty Night light” and tested it …..now unfortunately it has adopted this ‘whirr’ sound that Chris swears was always there even when Charlotte was a baby, but I’m not overly convinced it doesn’t have a little motor issue. It is 6.5 years old.
Nonetheless, I’m going to use it unless it gets annoying over soothing.
I still think its one of the greatest things ever invented.
I have my fridge ready.
Yes, I put a fridge in my room…I have a two story house and it just seemed smarter to get upstairs and stay there the first few weeks of C section recovery. All the bathrooms and bedrooms are upstairs, so I would rather miss out on the stove than my fluffy pillow and temperpedic.
It’s stocked full of important things like Dr. Pepper and Hershey Bars.
If I had a microwave in my room, I would probably never come down again.
I also went out and bought some ‘newborn’ size onsies after realizing everything I owned was 0-3 months and that will probably swap a child of mine, which I don’t expect to be more than 7 pounds or so. *(put in your last minute guesses here to win!)
Most of all I’m just sitting here anxious and waiting and knowing that, like a Gremlin, I can’t eat past midnight and somewhere around the 715am mark TOMORROW MORNING, I am going to let a human being I barely know cut into my body and rip out another human being.
Such a beautiful experience, right? RIGHT?
On the plus side, my house is as ready as its every gonna be and I have bought nearly every time recommended or I could remember back with Charlotte that I needed and Phoenyx is coming home to an award winner nursery (tee hee) so it cant get much better.
