Baby Bikinis

I am opening up a can of worms, I get that. But darn it all, I ran across this on researching something totally unrelated and it bothers me. Maybe it’s the posing or maybe it’s the marketing or perhaps the internal ‘ick’ factor for me on little girls in triangle tops, but….

OK, enough said. You know how I feel. How do YOU feel?

Yea your totally right-maybe it wouldnt look so bad if they had their diapers on?

I dont mind bikinis so much for babies-as long as they arent posing like that ‘model” on the homepage. my daughters bikini bottom was all ruffles not skimpy like these-i bought it was because it was 3 bucks at the end of summer and she only wore it in the house.

Looking at the models gallery- Theres the red life guard bikini- i like it but NOT for babies! BAYWATCH? let my baby dress like pam anderson?

  3. i am okay with baby 2 piece suits, BUT NOT THOSE! Those are horrible! Way to skimpy IMO. They look too much like skimpy adult suits. I agree with the PP… where are the diapers? Too skimpy if you can totally tell they aren’t wearing diapers! EWW. *shivers*

Oh NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!! I’m sorry but I think those are T E R R I B L E !!! Little girls should be ‘little’ girls! These photos look like a pedophiles dream! YUCK! You will NEVER see one of my daughters in a swimsuit like that!!!! NEVER! That’s why on my review/giveaway post for One Step Aheads swimwear I noted that I got my daughter the tankini that COVERS her belly! Sorry to those of you that don’t agree but I just think those are wrong. And the way they are posed….OH NO!

  5. -K- something else I just noticed….. Where are these kids diapers??? Surely the tiny models on the site aren’t potty trained. What’s even sadder is that you can actually see well enough to tell they aren’t wearing one. Apparently the bottom is too tiny to cover a diaper??? That’s just wrong.

I agree with some of the girls , first off I dont like the way they exposed that little girl! To me that is totally wrong. I think that binikis are cute but these ones are a little to skimpy for my likely! I would not wear one of these on my daughter !

I think the designs are a little too “mature” for babies..it’s no longer cute..I think one should dress appropriate for their age and babies and the right swimwear is no exception..I don’t mind 2 piece suits for babies as long as it still has the baby and cute factor and appeal to it..not sexy and a NO NO to g-strings and thongs..it’s just not right..

Why would they even pose that little girl like that.
When my youngest was 6 months old I bought her a bikini from old navy. It was a triangle cut, but all the straps on it were thicker than that and the bottoms were big enough to cover a diaper. and the only time she wore it was to take a pic of her fat rolls while sitting on the couch, lol. (why did I buy it then??)

Lisa, I bought one of those for my now 3 year old when she was 3 months. I found it on sale and figured it goes over her swim diaper and covered more than just her swim diaper. We were going to visit DH at his hotel a lot while he was at the academy.

  9. Waaaay too skimpy if you ask me! I’m okay with 2 piece swimsuits on little girls if they are the tankini type but no way would I EVER buy something like that for my little girl. And yeah, the posing on the site is just plain gross.

  10. Picture or no picture, just think of what the word “bikini!” is meant to evoke thoughts of. Certainly nothing befitting a preschooler. Ugh.

There is no way I’d put that on my 6 y/o daughter, EVER. a two piece is fine, but that is a little much. the bottoms are cut way to high on the hip and the side ties, uh no. We do one piece or the tankini set for our 6 y/o (and it has to cover her butt cheeks, i normally have to buy a larger size,) and one piece for our 2 y/o.

  12. This is why I am relieved to have boys. It terrifies me what is becoming “ok” for LITTLE girls to wear. What ever happened to just letting them be little girls, cute and lacey.

On a funny note, why do all the baby models in the gallery resemble women bodybuilders? Or maybe its just the way they are standing. I really need to go to sleep.

LOL I was thinking the same thing.
PS I’ll go to sleep when these kids go to sleep.

I think you’re right, that box looks very tight to fit in a one piece truly disturbing!

Oh and push up bras! I had to recently buy my oldest her first bra. The only ones I could find besides some sports bra type bras were push ups! She’s 9 years old! She needs something that doesn’t go to her neck because of her shirts. She doesn’t want to show it off to everyone. I think I managed to find ONE bra that was what I needed.

I found a store that was selling string bikini panties for a 4 year old! I was like NO WAY IN HELL! They will be wearing “granny panties” until they are out of my house! LOL
I was somewhere buying a gift and I saw a THONG for little girls. I wanted to know who in their right mind thinks that is okay!

    Suzanne,

that’s exactly what my grandma and I were thinking! I’m okay with bikini cut panties because of comfort. But where is the comfort in string bikinis panties and thongs?
