I am opening up a can of worms, I get that. But darn it all, I ran across this on researching something totally unrelated and it bothers me. Maybe it’s the posing or maybe it’s the marketing or perhaps the internal ‘ick’ factor for me on little girls in triangle tops, but….
OK, enough said. You know how I feel. How do YOU feel?

I’ve seen some baby bikinis that I thought were cute, but there was a lot more coverage provided. The triangle top and string bikini style is WAY too much for a little one IMO.
These are just smaller versions of the suits that some women wear. I reviewed Eberjey suits. Their designs for babies and toddlers are darling. I would consider one if I had a little girl. But these swimsuits are too adult. These is nothing cute or adorable about them.
I have boys but this is very disturbing to me and if I had a daughter, she would never wear a baby kini.
My husband and I were just discussing this the other day being that we now have a daughter and it’s coming up on summer. We both were adamant that until she reaches at least 15, she will only be wearing one pieces. We’re not even really keen on it then, but realize that if we don’t allow her to wear one that I help pick out, she’ll only slip behind our backs and wear something horrendous anyway. lol
Oh, not to mention the scary people out there. Let’s protect our kids!
I don’t like that at all. I agree it’s partly the pose she’s in, but the design is not little girl at all. UGH! I’ve always felt it’s better to let little girls look like little girls, though. Not like mini teenagers – sends a message to them I think.
By the way, I love that you’ve put the pictures of your kids underneath your pics on the top right corner!
That’s ridiculous. Let the babies be babies.
Kids grow up too quickly, we shouldn’t be hurrying it along. It’s cute to dress then in “grown up” type cloths but this takes it too far.
I’m just so glad I have boys =X
LOL at this picture of a dog wearing one:

i just don’t like the pose the baby model is i. I personally don’t buy bikinis for my baby daughter…. but I wouldn’t glare at someone at the pool for doing it
I just don’t because their are sicko pervs out there that seem to have the hots for children and babies. Same reason I would never do a beauty pageant for my little one. Its the adult posing and provocativeness that bothers me.
My girls will never wear bikinis. My 5yo has a top that is similar but the bottoms are like shorts. I worry about the pedophile factor out there.
I agree with the commentor that said up to a certain age. I apparently wore one until I was 3 according to my mom. What’s bothering me more on that site is the leopard print bikini…what the hell?
I do think that some little girl bikinis are cute..but only to a certain age…maybe 2 and under. Pedophiles are just waiting for these opportunities to get a glimpse. When hubby and I went on a vacation to Croatia, the little girls were wearing ONLY bottoms and no tops to about the age of 12. It was crazy to us, but the norm for them. It seems that as a society we have lost the innocence of children and make them into adults too early on so many levels. It really is sad. We have 2 boys…and on so many topics…I am so glad about that (swimwear, dance routines & outfits)! Even though I am begging God to bless us with a girl next time!
No way not on my kids.
I cannot stand them, they simply make me sick! If my daughters’ swim suits don’t cover enough of their body they swim in a t-shirt as well. The world has too many perverts for me to parade my kids around as bait.
Nope. My little one spends too much time at the beach. Not only do these look horribly inappropriate for someone in the single-digit age range but it’s just too much exposed skin to be healthy. I bathe her in SPF 50 but even that wears off sometimes and the smaller the affected area the better.
I cannot believe the underwear you girls are talking about!!!
The triangle top bikini, sure it be fine for me, if I had an awesome body-and I wasn’t hanging with the kids, god know what could fall out. It actually would be better for my good friend who is working at a bikini bar in California.
Like some of the rest of you, Olivia has worn a bikini, not a skimpy one, and it was just cute with fat rolls rolling over the bottoms, and it was in our backyard. She will be sporting a one piece this summer. Or a couple different one pieces
Gosh…I have a hard enough time letting my girls wear a swimsuit that doesn’t have a little skirt on the bottom of it. Let alone a 2 piece. Now granted if it covered Reagan’s middle then I don’t have TOO much of an issue with them. But for the most part I think that a triangle top is not appropriate and anything that shows more skin then what is needed for a baby/toddler.
I think we need to teach our girls to preserve what they have and NOT show off their bodies like those girls are doing.
I always thought I was a prude for thinking those were not right for kids, so now I feel better. Little girls run and jump and the bikini tops get pushed up and they dont pay any attention, but I am sure there are wierdos that do, I never liked them either and they have those little strings, to each his own I suppose and if someone wants to put them on their little girl it is not the worst they could do, but I certainly would not if I had girls.
