BabyLegs….too cute for words (A contest, two winners)

I, probably like you, have seen BabyLegs around and said “why didn’t I think of that?”. Lucky for MomDot, BabyLegs is one of our sponsors and are giving away some darling sets of BabyLegs and lucky for this mom (ME!), they sent a pair over to Charlotte to test out. I couldn’t resist sharing some photos. Even in the 100 degree heat, these things were just really cute. I cant wait to give some away! What do you think? I can see my fall wardrobe will be full of these! I mean Charlottes wardrobe-Freudian slip.

I just emailed over to BabyLegs because I really wanted to know how they got their start…in 10 minutes, they had sent me an email with all their press information and a praise from their office on how cute Charlotte looked. (Yes, I am biased, but its nice to hear it-in my opinion, this is the next BabyLegs model, cough) They also sent me a sneak peek of their new line AND I am happy to announce, they are coming out with a pair shortly where 10% of proceeds will go to Susan G Koman Race for the Cure to support breast cancer research.

So check it out…how great is this start! I love how innovative mommies are.

How BabyLegs got its first legs?

Once extreme snowboarder Nicole Donnelly decided to come down from the mountain she chose for her next adventure. She settled in the lush campgrounds of Saratoga Passage and soon began her family. Sara, a delightful sparkplug of a child with her mom’s penchant for exploring the world, was dealing with a diaper rash that would not quit. Nicole applied her baby-brains and came up with an ingenious invention. She cut off the feet to a pair of snowboarding socks and fitted Sara, from hip to ankle, with the coolest set of legwarmers. Now she could be diaper-free, rash-less, crawl safely on her knees and parade around in what was to become the latest in fashion accessories.

Charlotte looking fabulous in her BabyLegs.

If you are getting DejaVue on this post..you are. I didnt have a contest for them up then, but now I do..so rather then rewriting, im including the contest.

What you can win: Baby Legs has generously offered two gift sets, one Sky and one Cabana, so we will be pulling TWO winners, one for each set. ($24 value a piece)

How to Win:we want to make this interesting….lets hear why you want a BabyLegs set. No, not because you love them or your child is adorable in them…make us up the most outlandish reason why, we do not care if its a lie. Tell us your uncles cousins dog broke in and ate all your child’s socks. Best outlandish reason why WINS. We will pick the top two best stories, and those will be our winners. You may enter twice with two separate tales. Please note in your story, the set you would rather have if you are a winner.

Contest Ends: Friday the 8th

BabyLegs owner, snowboarder extraordinair here. I have to say that this is the most interesting and creative bunch ever.

LOVE the homeless story. I can’t help but want it to be true. I might, with your permission put it in our newsletter.

Hope to see you all on the BabyLegs forum for some design input. We are asking parents around for their ideas.

My little Sara says “HI” I’ve been reading her the stories too. With this list we’ve got bedtime stories for weeks! Thank you! Muchas Gracias!

    Mama out…

My three year old loves to tell stories. This is why everyone we know believes a pack of wild, crazy-eyed frogs invaded our house months ago and refuses to leave. These, however, are not you typical fly eating frogs. They would much rather chew through every sock in the house, as well as the occasional pair of pants, which can be quite embarrasing when we bend over.
As a result of all these frogs, who tend to hide behind the washer, in the sheets of the bed, and in each and every drawer of the dresser, we do not own a single pair of socks without holes. So, my poor little boy has to walk around with his little toe hanging out of his sock or go barefoot. There’s just no stopping these frogs!
So, since we cannot do anything to rid ourselves of the sock eating frogs, we would love to have the Cabana BabyLegs. We’ll even throw the frogs all our old socks, so they don’t get hungry enough to bite the precious BabyLegs!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

We live in Florida. BabyLegs could prevent all sorts of evils from occurring to my babes. Such as:

Alligator Bites: I simply do not believe any alligator could bite a leg clad in the super cute Sky BabyLegs.

    Sun Burn:

Mosquitoes: We are int he mosquito capital of the world! BabyLegs would keep these little monsters from devouring my sweet little girls.

Itchy Grass: My baby loves to crawl, but grass makes poor little knees itchy and red. BabyLegs could help her overcome this obstacle and be free to explore her world!

Sand Spurs: These things hurt. They stick in your skin like little, well, spurs. BabyLegs would keep them off my kiddos legs.

Poison Ivy/Oak /Sumac/ Etc: Yeah, we have lots of stinging poison plants here. BabyLegs will lower the risk that my little ones will brush up against one of these awful little plants.

Red Ants: Ouch, ouch, ouch. These little beasts are everywhere! BabyLegs will protect my little crawler from these nasty little bugs when she is out and about in the grass.

My daughters implore you to send then the Sky set of BabyLegs to protect them from these and so many more dangers. Thank you ;)

PS I live in Alaska, not in an igloo. But it’s a fun story!!

Connor NEEDS these because we live in an igloo and he is just starting to crawl around. I don’t want him to freeze his little legs to the floor…that just makes a big mess, trying to peal skin off of ice.
I think the Cabana ones would go nicely with our sled dogs collars!

LOL, what a great contest! I so can not compete with all the comments already posted! There are some very creative mommas out there! Well, here is my lame attempt anyhow:

My husband is in dental school. Because of this we are currently living in the most pitiful place…Married Student Housing. Yikes. No fun at all. It is basically dorms for married people with kids. Very scary. We have two very rambunctious little girls who create loads of dirty clothes. And, now, the really scary part. We have no washer and dryer in our apartment. Oh, the horrors, I know! Anyhow, in order to do laundry we either have to schlep our 4-5 weekly loads down our stairs (oh, yeah, did I mention we live on the second floor) to the on-site laundry room which is at least a 1/4 mile from our house (on-site, yeah right) and pay a mind blowing 2.50 per load (as if we don’t have enough debt from student loans) or, we can let it build up to a staggering 8-10 loads and schlep it two hours away to our families’ homes and wash it there free of cost. Well, if my little girls had the beautiful Sky BabyLegs, they could easily get by with out wearing anything else (these are so adorable, anything else would simply be unnecessary), so it would significantly reduce the amount laundry I have to. Thus making my life so much easier and also reducing the amount of debt we are accruing :)

OH! I want me some baby legs! So, here’s the story (and SOO true by the way):

As I feed my addiction of coffee and blogs, my 4 and 6 year old decided to “make” me breakfast. I hear a big boooom and this comes from my son’s mouth, “Sissy! You clean it up! Mom is gonna be MAD!”

*sigh* So, yeah, I want Babylegs so bad I haven’t even gotten up to clean the mess of lucky charms, life cereal, and milk that is covering both my kitchen and dining room floor.. oh and that’s not to mention the stinkin’ kool aid they wanted to go with the meal!

To add to the headache, I’m SUPPOSED to be at the beach, not here at home with a milky mess! ARGH!

C’mon BABY LEGS! Both sets are CUTE, but I think I’d like the sky set. Great Giveaway girls!

You will never believe this! Lily got picked as the YOUNGEST ballerina EVER for the New York City Ballet! I think it was her dazzling smile and love of spinning! Anyway, she HAS to have legwarmers for her debut performance of Swan Lake…she’s the LEAD role! I am such a proud Mommy! Unfortunately, I have spent all of our money getting her to New York, paying for a private teacher, and buying her elaborate costume (complete with tutu and tiara!). I just can’t afford the legwarmers. Please help my daughter shine on stage by providing her with the BabyLegs legwarmers in Sky (they actually match her costume!). Thank you so much!

My daughter hates socks. She comes from a long line of sock-haters. I hate socks. My mom hates socks. And her mom hates socks. (And I’m willing to bet that HER mom hated socks too!)

What my daughter does love is dresses. That’s all she ever wants to wear. It doesn’t matter what the weather or where we are going. Summer camp? Beach? Doesn’t matter. Only a dress for this little fashionista.

Luckily we live in California where the sun shines most of the eyar. But every once in a while, especially in the mornings, it is a bit chilly. Plus, she needs something to protect her bare little legs.

The Sky set is just soooooo lovely. I think that she might suddenly have something new to love!

    Hi …

Have you met my Issa-boo? She’s pretty cute isn’t she?

You know what she’s gonna be for Halloween? A baby chick, with a yellow tutu.

Can you imagine having a 21 month old little girl, come up to your house with brunette hair, with a yellow feather in it, and a cute yellow tutu?

Can you imagine the garbled “Trick or Treat” that would come out of her mouth?

Now…. can you imagine her with no legs?
None… just stumps so she couldn’t run back to me and show me all the teeth rotting candies in her little egg basket…

You can help her, for a nominal fee of BABY LEGS, you can make all of her chickie dreams come true!

With the yellow and white Baby Legs, she would once again run, jump, and even fall down with minimal damage!

It would be a dream come true for a little dark haired princess…. for just pennies a day, you too can help save a chick.

*(If not, she will be fried and eaten, what good is a legless chick? :) )*

Another absolutely true story: My daughter moonlights as a trapeze artist for a well-known circus. Yes, she’s a little young , (and we’ve told her she has to use the safety net at least until she’s two) but she’s such a crowd pleaser – how can we say no? She could really use the Sky babylegs to protect her arms and her legs as she winds her way through the trapeze ropes and dazzles the crowd with her daring aerial acrobatics.

Of course this is a true story: my dearest daughter must have baby legs because she has a penchant for hunting wild animals in darkest Africa. Only problem is, she must bellycrawl stealthily through the long grass and shimmy up and down tall, spiny trees as she stalks her elusive prey. Her little shins and chunky (but athletic) thighs are really taking a beating, and she absolutely must have the Cabana babylegs to protect her legs and maintain her stylish image while she ruthlessly hunts down her beasts.

Well, some of you know that I do research on the Formosan Termite. I guess a few of those critters came home with me and worked their way into my daughter’s dresser. Do you know that EVERY pair of pants was eaten by those darn termites! My poor baby has NOTHING to wear! I am sure that the Baby Legs in Sky would make her feel better!
