Baby Signs Book $50 BRU Giveaway! CLOSED
Imagine, the baby is screaming, the phone is ringing, the microwave just stopped, and the older kids knocks their cup on the ground.
You can’t figure out what the baby wants, while the older kids are trying to tell you what the baby is saying. It doesn’t make sense…
What is the first thing you do? (Screaming at the kids because you are tired and frustrated that you don’t understand them doesn’t count)
As this is all happening you realize that there must be a better way to deal with the non-verbal communication.
BABY SIGNS is based on American Sign Language and will help encourage the use of non-verbal gestures to communicate. Research has proven that babies who are taught to use signs to express their basic ideas before they can say words are happier because they can communicate with others.
For me, a parent of 2 kids who did use ASL, this is a great book that will show the basics of non-verbal communication. I love the fact that ASL teaches kids to communicate what their needs and wants are before they can speak.
We have a giveaway to help assist you in your journey with Baby Sign Language!

Ha! When I first read the headline I thought it was going to be about a baby who wrote his signature on a book. I was so confused!
At any rate, I have twins who are now 6 years old. When they were babies we taught them sign language and it was fantastic. They could ask for milk, water, fruit, crackers, more (of whatever they had), tell us when they were all done with something, and tell us when they needed a new diaper. You’d be amazed how much happier they are when they can communicate those basic things.

As for my 2nd entry, I’d like to win this giveaway b/c we are planning on using ASL with our baby due in Nov, so that he can communicate with us, far before learning to talk. I think it will be great if he learns to sign Milk and then that way, he won’t come tugging on my shirt, he can just sign what he wants & I’ll know he wants to nurse. That will be so cool! Anyway, thanks for hosting this give-away.
Hi, I just signed up to subscribe to the RSS feed! Thanks!
I subscribed via google reader. I would like to try ASL with my baby because I think it’ll be great to actually know what he wants when he gets frustrated.
I also subscribe via Google Reader.
I’d like to try ASL with my children because I took an ASL class in college and need to keep using it to “remember” it.

I would love for my kids to learn ASL. I think kids that know even just a little bit about signed are more sensitive to those that have to use it. They would also be able to “speak” with them, even if it is just a little.
Thanks for the great giveaways.

I took ASL years ago but had no need to use it so I don’t remember it. I would love to teach my Granddaughter and I could re-learn it.
I subscribe via Google Reader. My granddaughter needs this!
I’ve seen friends’ children be able to express themselves clearly rather than be frustrated by using ASL – I love that!
I have your RSS feed — that’s how I keep on top of all your great reviews and giveaways!
I want my children to know ASL as a second language because it can really come in handy when they come across hearing impaired people. I want them to be compassionate caring people who know how to interact with all kinds of people.

I want to teach my kids to use ASL because I’ve taught my brother’s kids some signs, and it’s easy and fun, and I love that I can understand what the kids want without them speaking to me.

oopos my link didn’t post, it has me email in it. =)
I would love to win this book, because my 2 yr old little guy still only says a few words. So being new to signing, I’ve had to learn simple words through homemade videos on the web. We sign milk, water, eat, and cat. I would love to learn more for him to be able to communicate better with us. =)
