Every night since Lily was around 6 months old, we have done the same routine with her at bedtime. We give her a bath, put on lotion and pajamas, brush teeth, read a book, pray and tuck her under the covers with lots of hugs and kisses.

Some nights, I take advantage of the quiet time and talk to her about whatever crosses her mind for a few minutes.
The other night, the conversation went something like this:
Lily: “Mommy, you are my favorite Mommy in the whole world.”
Me: “Awww, you are a sweet girl. You are my favorite Lily in the whole world.”
Lily: “And Daddy is my favorite Daddy, and Aubrie is my favorite sister and Callie is my favorite dog. We are one big happy family, right Mommy?”
Me: “Yep. We love each other very much.”
At this point she has totally melted my heart, so I reach over and give her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. To which she responds:
“Mommy, I am not going to dig my finger in my butt tonight, OK?”
UM. UH. OK……………………………………………..nothing like that sort of statement to snap you back to reality, huh?
Me: “Goodnight, Lil. I love you.”

LMAO! That is to funny!
Um, Okay sweetie!
I am laughing so hard at this! 4 is such a funny age!
hahahahaha— I love kids!!!
ROTFLMAO!! Now I know my daughter isn’t that weird!
Last night, after her bath, I was putting lotion on her back. She kept sticking her butt up in the air, so I told her to stop it. Her response was, “But I have to”. I asked her why and she said “because it’s a cave. A big spooky cave.”
My husband and I almost died laughing!
Out of the mouths of babes. Kids can be so entertaining!
That is so hysterical. We call my younger son the king of too much information, and you can imagine why!
I’m STILL laughing over that! The randomness of children is so stinking funny! lol
gotta love her, right??
Too cute – I had to read that one to my DH and he laughed too. Thanks for sharing
They are honest lil boogers! Too cute! Thanks for the laugh, Lily!
That one goes right up there with complete silence followed by, “Man this is a big booger! I better get a tissue!”
I love that! I will never cease to be amazed at what comes out of their mouths….mercy! Thanks for the good laugh today.
Isn’t it funny how quickly the conversation can turn with kids? Reminds me of a conversation with my so6-yr old son last week. He had a sore throat and we were on the way to the doc to get tested for strep. He tells me he thinks he knows why his throat hurts so bad. I asked him why. He says, “Because I’ve been eating too many boogers.” I say, “Yes Nicholas, that is exactly why your throat hurts.”
Awww…that was really cute…and disturbing all rolled into one..haha! just kidding..good stuff!
Bridgette, that was absolutely hyserical – did not see that coming! I can imagine it was tough to keep a straight face at that point.
ROFL! Ok, I had a big mouthful of sandwich when I read that last part and about choked! haha
Bridgette, that made me laugh out loud. That was totally unexpected and hilarious.
