Now when Chris and I booked a hotel to go to Biloxi the cheapest hotel room we could find for this weekend was $175. Between the Taylor Swift concert and Carlos Mencia show (which we went to), everything was booked solid or $400 a night.
$400 a night is great when Hershey’s is paying, but not moi.
I am the cheapest person on the face of the planet. Have you seen my cell phone?
We were not considering the cruise at that time so I thought we could splurge for the room and enjoy the weekend in celebration of our anniversary (may 8th). Then of course we booked the cruise and all I could think about was how poor I was going to be from Biloxi and the cruise combined. Since we had Carlos Mencia tickets that were paid for already, we were kinda stuck. It was just too far to go at 9pm, sit for 2 hours, and then drive home around 11:30pm since we live an hour away.
So we went.
We show up at the casino, check in, and go to our room. It was super nice. A jacuzzi tub in the bedroom (not the bathroom, the bedroom) where you could watch tv while you soaked, a view of the crappiest beach on the gulf coast, and of course places to lose your money 5 floors down.
We had $6 in our pockets.
We are high rollers.
On the way out to dinner we ran through the casino and I played the $6 on a machine- and won $128.
WOO HOO!
We cashed out, took our $128 and went to a nice steak dinner. Then we lost the rest of it to the machines and went to the show. After the show, because I am a glutton for punishment, we took $40 from the ATM and I handed DH a $20 and I took $20. I said “Don’t come back till this is $50″ and we separated. I lost my money in like 15 minutes on the Monopoly game.
I found DH at the penny slots and sat down next to him and we started chatting. Next thing I know he hit something and won $396. On the PENNY slots.
We cashed out, went back to our hotel, paid CASH for our room and were giddy the rest of the night about the win. We got up this morning and took $40 of it back into the casino.
I sat down at the dollar slots with my $20 and won $8. I cashed my $28 and went to another machine. I got up to $53 and cashed and went to a new machine.
Then I started to lose, lose, lose. I got down to $2.70 and hit the bonus round…where I won $70.
I cashed out and we went home.
Our entire weekend was paid for and we are up $200 cash.
I wish vacation was this easy every time.

Glad it all worked out in the end. Have you guys ever thought about staying in Ocean Springs? We go there at least twice a year…such a great little town.

Wow! You guys were super lucky. I’ve never heard of someone winning that much money in the penny slots. I didn’t even think that was possible. Now you need to plan a trip to Vegas!

That’s pretty darn good! We hardly ever go to casinos, but the few times we have, the best we’ve done was break even.
