My opinion is that there is enough to do to take a younger child. Clearly the estate (house)itself is more museum like and a tour. I would bring a carrier or sling in case your little one is tired. Since there are a lot of stairs, its not as easy to navigate w/ a stroller, although there are elevators in some areas.

With it being nov, its going to be colder and I am sure the flowers will be gone. But they did have a petting zoo w/ chickens, chicks, goats, sheep, a donkey, and a horse that was fun. They had shopping, a woodcraftsman, a metal worker (not sure what they are called), games in the yard to play. There were picnic areas. You can rent bikes and ride horses.

Of course there are LOTS of places to RUN RUN RUN so a 2 year old may enjoy that. I would still go and you may just find that your tour is an abbreviated one over the full.

Your pictures are amazing! Now I don't think I can put up my pictures on my post anymore. :)

We had so much fun and my kids were enjoying their conversation on what to do if they live there.

I love the mansion so much. I have been many many times and each time I learn something new. Though I could honestly recite the entire tour by heart at this point. But I either learn or see something new each and every time.

We went there last fall. It was a little nipply, er, nippy, but we enjoyed ourselves sooo much. I got some great shots of the barns at the farm and of the Biltmore Mansion.

We hope to go back on our next trip to N.C.
