Like Bridgette, Charlotte and I had a slightly stressful first year of life. She was just over 9 months old when her daddy went to Afghanistan and she was over a year old when he returned. Even at her young age, she didn’t forget him at all and has held him tight every day since. She has been quite a joy her whole life, growing into a kind, sweet, loving person with a bit of (ok a LOT OF) stubbornness and extreme independence. We spent many hours taking her off the top of the cat condo when she was just over 1, which meant we ultimately had to get rid of it. Charlotte and I spent her first birthday alone.
