Blog Party: Day 7

Welcome to MomDots Blog party, where we want to get to know you and have you go around the blogosphere and “play” the next few weeks. Its so easy to get caught up in our own blogs, that sometimes we need to find a way to interact amongst each other, so if you choose to play and expose your blog and visit others, for that, we thank you.

Anytime you answer a question posed in the blog party, please put the answer on YOUR blog and then sign the linky for that day. You can earn entries into our Blog Party Contest Pull by going to other blogs and leaving comments, visiting VIP bloggers and leaving comments, visiting sponsors, and of course, putting up your answer to the question.

Every time you have completed an entry point, please comment in the master entry list for the entire blog party. Do NOT put your contest entries in individual blog party day questions. This post is only for the link back to your blog where your answer is.

Please link back to each party day post in your new post so party members can move freely from link to link and also include sponsors above your answer.

DAY SEVEN QUESTION

post by Sarah

Tell us who is on your naughty list? Who is on your nice list?  Why?

Can someone tell me who started this? I scoured Wikipedia, Google, Yahoo Search and Ask.com and I cannot find the origin of this tradition!  I learned about a bajillion other things about Santa but I cannot find the Naughty and Nice list.  That being said I am still seeking the switches and coal system too.  I might let you in on the “naughty” gifts from our house later.  Now there is a story worthy of the Zoo!!

Since I am struggling to find the origin of the tradition, I have obviously not been able to lay my hands on the criteria for the Naughty and Nice List either.  Do you have to do something REALLY awful to make it to the naughty list?  Or is it enough to just run over someone’s toe with a shopping cart and not say “I’m sorry?”  If you do something just a little naughty do you get put on probation first or is it an immediate “ZAP!”?  And if my probation theory holds up can you serve your time and make it back to nice?

Who ever gave those jammies to Grammy sure was naughty!

I think we found the culprit!

And just how “nice” is “nice enough?”  If someone shares a chocolate bar, is that enough or do they have to fork the whole thing over?  After all, it is chocolate!  Is the nice list progressive?  Can you be super nice and earn some wiggle room in the naughty department?  Do siblings count?

Who is keeping track of this stuff?  Is it REALLY the Elf on the Shelf? I told Mo and Tuck that those cameras in the stores (you know the, creepy black hanging eye?) are really there for moms.  We say “Click!” and it automatically snaps a picture of whatever bad behavior they are up to and e-mails it to Grammy AND Santa.  What can I say?  It’s a technological age!  And how cruel was it of me to double whammy them like that?

Some clerks in Home Depot gave me a really funny look when they over overheard me say, “Do I need to click?”  That was until Mo piped up with, “Nooooo!  I’ll be good!  Please don’t send the picture to Santa!”

So since there is no standardized system, I want to know.  Who is on your Naughty List or your Nice List and why?  Someone has to assemble this information for future generations!  Otherwise we end up in a “click happy” society where failure to smile could put you on the Naughty List for life!

By the way, you don’t want to be on the Naughty List in our house.  Santa just pees in the naughty stocking so all you’re left with is stink!  Yuck!
