BlogHer 09 Sponsorship Contest Feb 25

sponsor1Looking for a BlogHer scholarship (ie sponsorship)? We have your ticket right here!

Label Daddy’s BlogHer 09 Contest in partnership with MomDot.com

MomDot has been sitting on this exciting announcement and we have been given the green light to take off with it. Label Daddy, a made in the USA personalized label company, recognizes how important  bloggers are and how important supporting the blog community is, and they are coming out to prove this in a BIG way.

While they are already fully sponsoring Sara from Momma Findings for the convention and sponsoring Bridgette, Alicia, and I’s hotel fees, they want to go even further and are offering to cover 2 bloggers convention fees (worth approx $200 a piece) and one full ride to BlogHer for a lucky blogger (including plane, convention fee, and hotel cost).

Do you know any other company offering 5  Blogher sponsorships for the Blogging Community? I don’t! Yeah for Label Daddy! We are so proud to be associated with them and all three MomDot MEOs thank them from the bottom of our hearts for assisting us in paving the way to BlogHer.

Now where do you come in? Label Daddy has partnered with MomDot to reach bloggers with this great opportunity and we are kicking off the sponsorship here! You will be allowed to enter the other partial  BlogHer 09 sponsorship contest for your convention fee on Sara’s page and the full ride (hotel, plane, and convention fees) directly on the Label Daddy page. You may enter ALL THREE, upping your chance of selection, and giving you three  separate chances to win one of the three scholarships. We are the first one to post our contest, and those other chances will be coming this week. I will alert the site when they all go LIVE on the other sites.

Please note that each contest is independent, which means to enter our convention fee contest, you must enter it on MomDot, to enter the second convention fee contest, you must enter it Saras page and to enter the Full Ride BlogHer scholarship, you must enter at Label Daddy ( coming feb 1st). Entries are not combined, therefore chances of winning will depend on amount of entries on each site.

SCHOLARSHIP:

We know how important BlogHer is……… not only to Blogs, but to companies! So to bring them together in this huge event, is amazing and know you want to attend. The parties, the glitz, the glamour…me talking your ear off and giving you hugs while you run in the other direction….what is better than that?

Nothing.

To be entered into our BlogHer Convention Fee contest we are requiring that you first blog about this contest to support the company that is so graciously supporting the blog community. Without companies like this, we all would be doing conventions via web cams instead of shaking hands in real life. I think our Etsy post this week showed us that not all companies appreciate the power and influence of the blogger and we should all applaud those companies that do!

Please include links to this post and to Label Daddy and put your anchors (ie links) on the words “Label Daddy BlogHer 09 Sponsorship” so others can find it.

After that, we want you to answer  the following question, in 500 words or less:

1) Why is the BlogHer convention important to you and how would this sponsorship assist you? *(sob stories, cheering, posters, begging, etc are all allowed…impress us with your excitement)

After your initial entry, you may enter as often as you want with new stories and reasons during the duration of the contest, as long as you tweet this contest before you put in an additional entry. Increased entries wont influence us in picking you, rather every entry will be judged on its own for the content of the answered question.

BlogHer '09 In Real Life*You may VLOG your entry or use pictures to illustrate your point, please leave the link for us to see if you do.  Please remember that our site has a spam protector so your link may be caught in our Moderation..we will uncatch it when we sign on*

MomDot will pick the person that moves us (that could be laughing, crying, thinking, etc…we have no specific definition of “moves”, but someone that just truly wants to go and it comes across) the most on Feb 25th, 2008, just in time to get the Early Bird convention fee special on BlogHer.Chances of winning dependent on how many entries there are. Convention fee scholarship worth approximately $200 .

PS Want to purchase some labels at a 10% discount? They could be used to illustrate your reason on wanting to go in your videos/pictures…stick your whole body in labels…lol..use the code LDMOMMY for discount code of 10% off Label Daddy labels

  1. There is a easy to apply scholarship award at Scholarships 4 Moms. This Scholarships 4 Moms contest is a random drawing done a few times a year and not just one time. In the past years they have had more then one drawing per year. I think every mom looking to go back to college should try and see if they can win because it’s an online application and it doesn’t take much time to fill out! You have a chance to win up to $10,000 too which is pretty good considering all you have to do is spend 10 minutes filling out their application.

    I blogged about it here:
    http://suzannesez.blogspot.com/2009/02/label-daddy-blogher-09-scholarship.html

Not only are they wonderful for offering these scholarships, they have blown me away with outstanding customer service. I have made two purchases, and both were sent out within 24 hours with FedEx tracking in my confirmation email.

On the other hand, a major Office retailer was out of stock on my laptop, knew it the day I ordered the machine, but still had my order showing as being delivered between 8:30 and 5pm last Friday. I contacted them THREE times and it took the third contact for someone to tell me that it wasn’t coming-after I’d spent all day at home waiting.

I emailed Scott and Greg to let them know that their email Friday was so nice after my bad experience. They’re a small company and treat every customer as if their order is the most important. The big Depot could learn a few lessons from LabelDaddy.

    You guys ROCK!!!

I’ve blogged about it several times, and I made a vlog to answer your question. It’s up here: http://www.sweetnsassygirls.com/2009/02/blogher-sponsorship-from-label-daddy.html

So I tweeted again just so I can say….

My final reason for wanting to go is entirely selfish. I have not had a moment to myself since I had kids. Now, the oldes is only two so that’s only two years, but it still feels like a very very long time.

I have MOMS night out sometimes, but it’s just a few hours and their asleep anyways. I could use a weekend of time with other moms and people, learning about other companies and of course just adult conversation for a whole weekend, unenterrupted. So selfish of me I know, but it would be nice.

I do love my kids. I love being a mom.

  15. Wanda says:

This past year (08) was a doozy! My husband left the church he was pastoring for over six years. It was a very unhealthy situation on the part of the church. Then, he sat for four long months unemployed. It was devastating to our family (we have 3 teenagers!)! We knew that we made the right choice by leaving the church…but it was by far one of the most painful experiences of our lives.
During that time, hubby had been encouraging me to let him put a blog together for me to have a fun hobby. I thought he was crazy! What would I do with that? I’m a busy mom and who blogs anyway? I had no idea what an exciting and amazing world was out there.
Long story short….he did and I’m hooked! I have found the most amazing people ever through blogging. One of the first things I discovered was Blogher. It’s awesome! I started dreaming right away about being a part of the Blogher conference. I am a total people person and what better way to connect than at this sort of event? It sounds incredible!
I would love to be entered to win a scholarship.

  16. Blogged here: http://www.allaboutkimberly.com/biggest-contest

and wrote a WAY OVER 500 word reason…LOL…then came back to reread the rules and saw the 500 word criteria so I’m attempting to shorten below…..If something doesn’t sound right or make sense, the link above hopefully is more gramatically correct.

I am the almost 30 year old Mom of two amazing girls. Becka is 16 and came to live with us a little over a year and a half ago. She is the most intelligent and driven teenager I have come across (I’m a high school teacher so I’ve come across many). She was doing everything she could to be the best she could be, but when it came down to it, her environment was terribly limiting. As I watched her, I knew I had to do something about it. I began researching to see how get her out of this situation. I became her legal guardian so that she could go to my school. In the last year and a half, she has proven that it was all worth it. She’s taking advantage of this opportunity to be the best she can be.

Cameron is my other daughter. She’s 8. When I made the decision to invite Becka into our family, I discussed this with Cameron. This was going to be a BIG change in her life for someone to come and live with us. Not only was she losing attention, but she was losing her play area. Our house is small. So she had to give up more than her play room…she had to give up a lot of those toys that were in the play area. There wasn’t enough room in our house for them if they couldn’t be in the loft. But Cameron was great about this. She was more than willing to part with her items, if it meant her “Becky” would be with us. I’ve never been more proud of my princess.

My girls are why I would like the BlogHer sponsorship. I’m a single mom to these girls. I teach in a rural town in Texas – not a very big paycheck each month. Because I want my girls to be the best they can be, any extra money we have goes to pay for extras for them…There are dance/twirling lessons, both play softball, fees for clubs, debate outfits, the list could go on forever. But when it comes time for Mom? I can’t justify the cost of things for me – back a master’s degree, BlogHer, or my favorite perfume. Winning this chance to go to BlogHer would be one chance for something for me – a way for m to learn more about this hobby that has become my passion, a chance to network and learn how to take my blog to a place I dream of, to find the best way to implement a couple of the blogs I have in mind but don’t know where to begin.. Winning a scholarship to BlogHer would be a rare time when I could do something that was for me. Maybe that sounds selfish, but I will be going is if it’s through the generosity of others.

  17. erin says:

The Blogher ’09 Convention is important to me because staying at home with my kids is important to me. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a husband who feels the same way and while we get by…that’s all we do, get by. I see so many great blogs that I know are probably sources of income and I keep thinking to myself, why don’t I try that? I have writing experience, I’ve done reviews, and I’d like to think I’m a fairly educated mother. ;) But there are many questions and things I don’t know keeping me from making that final dedication to becoming a ‘professional’ blogger. If I got this sponsorship I’d get to attend Blogher, network, gain knowledge and advice, and just do it already!

Well, that’s my first reason…give me some time to think and tweet and I’m sure I’ll come up with some more!
