Brag about Your Blog Day

bragI have decided today is Brag About your Blog Day. I have that authority, right?

I want you to tell me everything completely awesome you love about your blog or that has happened as a result of your blog recently. I mean, from the “one extra reader” to “working w/ a PR company” we want to know it ALL.

  • Your blog helped other people discover how cool you are
  • Companies knocking down your door
  • Met a New Friend
  • Realized what a great writer you are
  • Made some advertising dollars

Nothing too small or too large to bring up.

There is so much competition out there and we want you to know that we not only support you, but we want to hear about all your accomplishments!! You work hard on your blog, now tell everyone about it. We call it Bragging Rights.

So have at it………BRAG away.

Don’t be shy.

You’re in good company.

We like to talk about ourselves.

I think I’ve have a good balance between mommy blogging and runner blogging. Only moms like to read stories about children and only runners like to read posts about times and stats. I believe I successfully found a way to share both elements of my life without boring my readers.

I love to write, but I never dreamed that my blog would take off like it has. I love to share my work and I constantly amazed that people really enjoy reading what I write.

I also love how supportive runners are of each other. We celebrate each other’s successes. I never saw myself as a real athlete or runner, but even professional athletes that visit my blog make me feel I’m one of the gang.

I’ve met some truly amazing people since I became a blogger. I feel my life has become more rich and blessed because of them.

I’m starting to really connect with people and make some friends through my blog! As a bonus, it helps my Creative Memories business. :)

Well I won’t necessarily brag on my “blog” per se, but I will brag on what has resulted from my blog: 1.) I rediscovered my ability to write. 2.) I’ve made some incredible friends. 3.) I actually make the equivalent of a good part-time job from adsense alone… and hope to expand to paid advertisers before long :) . 4.) Through my blog and networking I got the opportunity to be a part of a new social networking site just for women – http://smaknews.com (yes, another shameless plug). 5.) And, I will also be partnering with a good friend on another great site in April or May – mums the word on this one yet.

  4. Well, I really enjoy writing my blog. I have a handful of regular followers so apparently I am interesting enough. I have a couple of giveaways coming up in the next few weeks. I am really hoping that will get me seen a little more.
I write about my family – occasionally I put my feelings or Hubby puts his feelings out there about things besides our families. But I love that I get to sit down on a daily basis and write (and write and write – sometimes I talk a lot) about my family. I love my family and since I am so proud of them that is ultimately what I am proud of about my blog. My family. I hope you all will come check us out.

  5. There are so many things that I love about blogging and my blog. But the biggest reward I get is when someone emails me or comments me that one of my posts helped them in some way; laughter, educational or just entertained them for a few minutes.

I write mostly about my adventure as a mother of two boys ( 4 and almsot 3 months)

  6. Shan says:

I discovered from my blog that I can make people laugh with my posts and that they actually like what I have to say. I am shocked that I now have 41 followers {only one of them knew me beforehand} and I have only been blogging since Sept. ’08. I love blogging! I have found a community of people that always brighten my days.

I got asked to write for an online humor magazine and got asked to do a product review by a company who came to me. I have also gotten a couple of actual friends from my blog. If we lived closer to each other, like in the same state, I am sure we would be at each others houses all the time and our daughters would be the best of friends.

I was able to get some wonderful sponsors for BlogHer and now I think I will actually make it there! I also just got my 200th subscriber, which is very exciting to me.

  8. I love blogging! I think the first thing I love most is all the people I have met since I have started. Basically everyone I have met is friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I have worked with some great PR reps, companies, etc. I find blogging fulfilling and exciting. I look forward to blogging and all that it has to offer. I can safely say the blogging has increased my self-confidence and self-esteem. I look forward to learning more and getting to know more people. Of course, it is also exciting the more people that visit me.

  9. My Blog: Green Mama’s Pad
I still consider myself relatively new to the blogosphere, I’ll be hitting my 2 month milestone in just a few days. I started my blog because I wanted to share my knowledge of “green living” and “green products”. I know thee are tons of green blogs out there, but i feel that everyone brings something unique to the table. My outlook is if I help just one person, then I’m a success.
Not even a month into blogging I was contacted by a start-up reusable bag company to do a review and giveaway. What an amazing feeling it is to have company contact you. That giveaway really made my traffic jump up. It’s slowed down now a little since then, but I’m ok with that.
I have to say that all the mom bloggers I have “met” ao far are awesome. Everyone is super nice and always willing to help the new girl out. I’ve learned so much from you all already. :)
My goals now are to start contacting some companies for reviews and to look into purchasing a domain. Any tips for a newbie?

I love to see the self esteem that all of you are gaining and the positive things that you are able to see in your blogging! What a great stride in housewifery, motherhood and womanhood. Very empowering!

I am both humbled and enlightened by the changes that my blog has gone through lately. I started Womb At The Innsane, watched it grow quickly and then shrink incredibly in its readership over the past year. I’ve had to say goodbye twice to the WATI, I’ve suffered the loss of respect of some family members over my blogging, faced some harsh realities and basically am having to start over from scratch. And you know what? I’m grateful for it.

I’m starting over with a different attitude, structure and goal this time. I’ve made physical changes like swtiching to WordPress. I’ve made emotional changes by realizing my mistakes and learning from them. I’ve made life changes that are always going to be the backbone of my blogging. I have decided to proceed, not with the intent to become the most popular blogger, but the blogger who candidly writes her life because that is why she started in the first place.

Just wanted to share that with you all.

I love SO many things about my blogs Blasian Baby Notes and Daniels 365

First I love that their mini memory book for the events in my son’s life. Children grow so much in the first year of their life that you can’t keep up with everything…unless you have a blog.

Second, I love that visitors to my blogs form a community in some many different ways. I never thought having a biracial child would be the main connection with me and so many moms and dads. Since my son is black and asian = blasian, I have an automatic connection to those two communities. But I’m also connected to any person black, asian, white, hispanic, etc that loves children and cares about the issues that affect them.

Lastly, thru my blogs I become a voice… an activist… a face for black mothers who date, marry and rasie famialies that step outside the mainstream norm of what is expected of us.

    Viva la difference!

I love my blog for a couple reasons. I love all of the people I get to “meet” and chat with on a daily basis. I love how it makes me write and I am not a writer. It lets me express myself.

I’m now learning to love doing giveaways and have been contacted by a couple companies and etsy store owners.

Overall, I enjoy doing it, and that’ what matters most!

  14. I have made the best friends through blogging. The companies I have *met* and talked with on the phone are just amazing! I love working, yet working from home with my blog. I have several great companies sponsoring me to get to BlogHer and that is exciting and so great to see how much companies help out bloggers.

A few months ago, because of my mom blog, I got hired at my 1st freelance blogging gig at a GOOD rate. Did so well, a month later they gave me a 2nd blog to maintain! As a result of THAT, I got onto Twitter and garnered 1200+ followers in 6 months, resulting in my boss requiring all her bloggers be on twitter. And because of THAT, I’ve made even more friends! And today I ranked #1 on MSN, and #3 on Google for “mom blog”.

    Which means more friends… :-)

  16. Chrysa says:

I love my blog (http://thriftyjinxy.blogspot.com/) because I learn something new every day while blogging. I can’t believe how much I have learned in the last year! It’s also exciting to see my readership grow and grow (Feedburner says I’m up to 1,768!) The best thing is to get emails with thanks from readers. I also have fun reviewing products and holding giveaways – especially when the winners are really excited to win!

Two things I really want to do in the near future are figure out how to move my blog over to me domain name (I bought the domain, I just CANNOT figure out how to get it moved and when I follow instructions it doesn’t work.) I also want a new design! If anyone has a good designer to suggest, I’ll check them out.

Oh, and I am also excited because I started a new blog last week and I am already getting a lot of visitors. The new one is Beauty by Jinxy (http://beautybyjinxy.blogspot.com) – - It’s fun working on something new, but I hope I don’t stretch myself too thin.

I love my blog. I recently put up a questionaire for my readers so I could gather a little more demographics for PR companies that are contacting me. I left a box open for comments and have recieved many “Thank Yous” for helping them save money!
It just makes me so happy to think I am helping other families!

I love the fact that my blog was started as a way to connect with other online moms and to write about my daily life, has now turned into a way to network and review/giveaway products that have my approval!

I have recently had some major traffic due to some of those and it’s awesome to know that people are seeing my blog. I hope soon that it will be due to content as well!

  19. Let’s see I finally got my domain up and running. It felt so good that I accomplished this.

After posting a review I did, the PR rep contacted me and they want me to try out some more products. That made my day.

It’s the little stuff really like just getting a comment that makes my day.

Just over a year ago, I lost my home to foreclosure. Rather than be ashamed alone, I decided to blog about it on my own blog at over at BlogHer.
    http://suzannesez.blogspot.com/2008/02/foreclosure-personal-story.html

That one entry alone gets me at least two emails a month from others going through the same thing. Many ask questions about what to expect, but most thank me for sharing my story, because they realize that you can be a hard worker and still lose your home.

I’ve written many things that I thought were funny or thought provoking, but that one post achieved what I had hoped it would by helping others who feel like they are going it alone.
