Bring in the holidays….with a car wreck.

I backed into someone at Walmart. It was pouring outside AND they were in my blind spot. I backed right into them and didnt know it till I heard a crunch. I wasn’t on the phone, I was only doing like 3 miles an hour….and Ill tell you what was extra annoying, the little girl that gets out of the truck, all of like 18 years old, asked me if I had insurance so I give her my information. Then she tells me she wants me to call her phone so she knows I wrote down my real number.

WTF.

I wanted to say, you stupid biotch, I just damaged my car 150% more then yours (infiniti has terrible bumpers), I’m holding my insurance card, your stupid boyfriend wont get out of the car to come talk to me and its HIS vehicle (why? Cause its freaking pouring and he wants you to do it and you did) and its Christmas eve. Did I mention that we just got in a car wreck last month and do not want to even put this ON my insurance  *insert hyperventilating here* and you are asking me to call your phone in case I gave you the wrong phone number? Shove that phone up your……….

And how was your day?

I hope you managed to get everything figured out. It stinks that stuff like this always happens at the holidays. I can’t believe she was worried that you didn’t give her your real number!

  2. Shannon says:

I’m sorry. I pray your actual Christmas day was full of blessings!

  3. Seriously. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. Try to enjoy the holidays despite this and the identity theft.:D

  4. Oh no! And what a horrible boyfriend…I think I would have refused to deal with her…If he wanted my info, he could get out in the rain too.

Are you obligated for accidents in parking lots even though it’s private property?

I’m glad no one was hurt. You’re a bigger person than me. I would’ve been ultra mean and said “If it’s your boyfriend’s car then HE can come out and talk to me if he’s got concerns. Here’s my info. BYE.”

You could think of it this way: at least you still have your car. Did you see that water main break that happened in Bethesda during the morning commute yesterday? People had to be rescued from their cars, and ironically it happened on River Rd.

Oh, man! Walmart on Christmas Eve is bad enough, but to get in a wreck is even worse. I’m so sorry!

And I’m totally with Kim – I have those sensors on my Expedition and they save me all the time. I am the world’s worst backer-upper.

  11. Oy. That’s not a fun way to start the day. It will get better Trish…I’m sure it will!

  12. Stefanie says:

Oh well Merry Christmas Eve to ya! lol That totally blows! What a nice boyfriend to make her get out and get the info…JERK! He sounds like a keeper!

    Hope your day gets better!

  13. Awwww! That sucks. I hope the rest of your Christmas Eve is better. It’s just awful how society is so worried about fraud these days.

  14. That sucks.

My van has those sensors that ding when you get 18″ from ANYTHING and at first we mocked them but I KNOW they saved us a couple of times from backing into things.

It sounds like no one was hurt and that is what really matters.

Oh no Trisha!!! That’s awful!! At least it was something relatively minor, but what a biotch, wanting you to call her phone??? that’s so freaking funny!! Are you going to be able to fix the damage relatively easy?
