Hey, everyone, It’s Alicia! Look what we have here! We are so lucky enough to be able to work with Carolyn from Carolyn’s Kitchen Online again. Back in September AND December we provided you with an opportunity to win an incredible apron, and now we are giving you the chance to win another apron. (and you may remember Trisha sporting hers in a Funky Friday video) Everyone loves them so much, we keep having to have them come back. So welcome to another product of Carolyn’s Kitchen (and sure not to be our last).
I know that I tend to be REALLY messy when I cook. Wait make that if I cook, but anyway, when I bake its a mess and there is never a time where I get something on myself. Now if I had one of these sexy aprons, I wouldn’t have to worry about spilling something on myself. And maybe, just maybe, it would make my husband want to help me out in the kitchen.
Check out what Carolyn’s Kitchen is all about:
Carolyn West’s vintage-inspired aprons and dish gloves enhance the merriment of playing whimsical dress-up combined with the indulgent delights of naughty pin-ups. This range of appeal makes Carolyn’s designs perfect for gifts for all occasions. These sets are also sweet treats for yourself and fun gifts for mothers, sisters, daughters, and brides. Carolyn mixes the domesticity of past decades with the working world of the 21st century woman by creating a business focusing on feminine domestic designs. Inspired by a gorgeous apron and glove set from Paris, Carolyn began by discovering 1940’s patterns and bringing them to life with her modern interpretive designs. “I wanted to bring back the glamour, sexiness, and cuteness of a bygone innocent era. The gloves and fabrics are new and nicer – it’s a new and improved version of the ’40’s.”
“I let my imagination run, and originated the embodiment of that 40’s girl in the apron and gloves, living in our ultra modern age. Suzy Homefaker slaves over a hot microwave for minutes at a time, constant hostess to all, in and around her kitchen, enticing temptress to you know who, you know where.”
You too will find yourself transformed to that frivolous and fun part of you when you become Suzy Homefaker in Carolyn’s designs.
Now we all know that during any holiday we are always baking cookies and having HUGE dinners with all of our families. We also know that as a hostess its hard to keep yourself clean and free of excess food on your nice new outfit. So you all have the opportunity to win a Red SweetHeart Apron~!

Now can you just imagine yourself now, standing in the kitchen cooking dinner for all of your family or even taking the time to bake cookies with the kids? And I know that we all want to look sexy in the kitchen and here’s the perfect opportunity to do that! This contest is for the apron above on the model and does not include the gloves or hat…although we think you should pick those up for the perfect outfit.

Quaker 2
Quaker 1
I stole this from my friend a while back
10 Cup Cookies
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 cup peanut butter
3 large eggs lightly beaten
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup uncooked quick cooking oats
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup raisins
1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
Preheat oven to 350… combine first 4 ingred. in a large mixing bowl, beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs, beating well… Combine flour and next 3 ingred. add to peanut butter mixture, and beat well. Stir in pecans, and remaining ingredients… it says to put it on a lightly greased cookie sheet, but I didn’t grease mine… Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden… remove to wire rack to cool (or paper towels
…)

Chocolate Chip Fudge Cookie Mix
Oh so dreamy.
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups rolled oats
1 chocolate bar — (5.5 ounce)
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Dry ingredients are layered in a jar and given, along with directions, as a gift. Use a funnel that has a 2-inch opening, to layer nicely in jar. With wire whisk, mix flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Pour into jar, pack down level with heavy object.
2. Mix oatmeal in a blender. Grate chocolate bar and mix into the oatmeal. Pack on top of flour in jar.
3. Add white sugar and pack down. Add brown sugar and pack down. Layer chopped nuts on top of brown sugar. Finish layering jar with mini or regular chocolate chips until even with the top (no more than 1/2 cup).
4. Use scissors to cut a 9 inch-diameter circle from calico. Place over lid and secure with rubber band. Tie on a raffia or ribbon bow to cover rubber band.
5. Label and store in a cool dry place away from a heat source so condensation and clumping does not occur.
6. Attach this recipe to the jar:

Here’s a REALLY yummy Peanut Butter cookie recipe!
½ cup sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup butter, softened
½ cup peanut butter
2 Tbls milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
Heat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar, and butter until light and fluffy. Add peanut butter, milk, vanilla and egg; blend well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately place a Hershey’s kiss on top of the hot cookie. Press down. Remove form cookie sheets and cool.
FUN variation: Before placing cookie dough on the cookie sheet, wrap a “fun size” (the one-bite size) Snicker’s candy bar inside the dough. Bake as usual (don’t put a kiss on top). The Snicker’s will melt into the cookie—it’s pure heaven!
