Proof that Our Government is run by Morons

Yesterday I received a letter on the Census.

This letter in fact:

Good thing they WARNED me I would be receiving yet another letter next week that actually contained the Census.

For real?

They spent my tax dollars to send me a freakin’ pre-letter to a letter? How much did this cost my child’s future? 1.9 Billion dollars in stamps, ink, and paper?

How many trees died for this crap?

This was the biggest waste of blatant government spending that has ever hit my mail box.

Someone obviously needs to be fired. Let’s start with that nit-wit Robert Groves.

I was thinking the same thing, what a waste of money. They also sent out xmas cards (not to me) and I thought gee we have money to do do that, I don’t think so!!!

When I was younger I used to wonder why many older and intelligent people were so bitter and cynical about politics in general, the government in particular, as well as the corporate world out there. I guess I am older myself now, because I can’t believe the nonsense that is going on out there and that they are feeding us. They must think we are all stupid!! They are stripping us off our last dime to waste more money and fill their own pockets and they are treating us like three year olds!!

  3. Agreed! I got the envelope thinking my census had arrived. Nope – just some stupid warning letter. I swear! They want to bitch about not having money up in Washington, yet obviously there was money to do a warning letter.

If they sent out this pre-letter to see who has moved, um hello, just go straight to your friends at USPS to get the huge list with the most recent recorded addresses or forwarding addresses that people submit when they move. Wasting all this paper does not match up with all the “going green” BS.

I thought the same thing, then I showed my husband this site. He said it is genious because it is the same thing marketing companies use. They do this mass mailing, then they get return addreess so they know people who have moved from their current address. Then they do a second mailing which is a shorter list because of the returns.

Even so, I think it is big government waste.

  6. OMG… Bill and I had the EXACT same conversation yesterday when we got our stupid letter. What a freaking waste of money, trees, time, yada, yada, yada! Unbelievable.
    TRISHA FOR OFFICE!!!

  7. I thought the same thing when I received mine. We have a severe deficit and yet, the budget allowed for this?!

  8. I got mine yesterday and thought that same thing. As if the tv commercials weren’t enough…we needed a pre-letter warning too. While the rest of us are trying to cut back, the gub’mint sees fit to spend like there’s no tomorrow.
