Charlotte is Kiilllling me today

[private]

newcamera-002First of all, the age has started bringing on……..LYING. Today she wanted a cookie. Got to eat your lunch first, right? She told me she ate it. She put her plate in the sink. I let her pick out a cookie. I said “You ate the whole thing?” she said “Yes”.

I walk by the trash….sandwich in there. So I take her cookie, give her a talk about lying, and told her she couldn’t have a cookie anymore. DH gives her a talk about what lying is. Lots of crying and drama from her end. Oh, woe is the cookie that never was…yadda, yadda.

Clearly, she needs a nap. Its been nothing but whining today. I put her to bed. 10 minutes later I hear her in the bathroom. I go up and retuck her in. I go outside to get something from the car and come in…I hear “Mommy? I’m in here”.

She was in her playroom playing.

I tell her to go back to bed and take a nap. I said “I’m not asking you, I’m telling you.”  She gets up and runs in there.

Not 10 minutes passes, I hear “mommy?” I get up to look and she is standing on the stairs…in full dress up clothing. “I’m playing dress up!”

OMG. KILL ME NOW.

Oh welcome to my world, Trisha! My daughter will be 4 in March.

I have been thinking about looking into tranquillizers…for ME, not for her!!

And I thought I was the only one who thought the 3′s were worse than the “terrible twos”!

My husband has dubbed them the “triple threat threes”. Why don’t any of the books or our mommy friends for that matter, tell us about this little stage of development?

All the books tout the terrible twos as the ONLY time of wanting to pull out your hair. They make it seem as if as soon as they turn 3 it is all smooth sailing! I want my money back!

They LIE, I tell you! All LIES!!

Mine just turned four and he no longer does anything the first time I tell him. What’s worse, he no longer seems to care if I have my mad face on. Days like today when I had to get my mother to the doctor and he refused to get in the car, are the worst. Then he spent 10 minutes playing “catch me if you can” around and around the car. If my neighbors weren’t watching, I would have left him standing in the driveway to see what he would do if I left him there(only for a second, I swear!)

There must be something in the air! Audrey is driving me nuts today too. Totally naughty and we had to fight for two hours before she finally would take her nap, which she obviously so desperately needed. I feel your pain.

It’s the mother f’in 3′s I tell ya. They’re worse than the 2′s. And if Charlotte is anything like my kids, Christmas just throws her into high gear and drives you absolutely INSANE in the process.

    Fallllllling on my knees

Sorry she’s not listening. I hope she lays soon for you. Both of mine are hard asleep on the couch after three hours of walking around the school and having fun with their Christmas party.

  11. I can so feel your pain. Cameron is 8 and we’ve been having one of those weeks where it’s one little thing after another.

  12. My boys have always been strong willed from day one. Now they are teenagers and they drive me crazy with being so strong willed. They have fibbed to me so much that if they tell me they are (doing something legit), I’m skeptical. They are always trying to get away with stuff and I wonder – when does it END??! I honestly did not think having teenagers would be so hard. And I do recall that my oldest one would refuse to take a nap when he was little. It was a miracle if he actually took one.
