If you know me or talk to me or follow me on any site but the front of this blog, you already know since Feb 17th I have been begging, pleading, and desperately pulling at people for voting in a competition I foolishly entered Charlotte into. I have left it off the blog because whats the point in blogging 30 days in a row to vote? I really thought that it wouldn’t be this hard. That if I go one day without asking that I would survive.
I was so wrong.
This competition has been full of drama and cheating and honest to God daily humbling of ones self in groveling. Only the truest of friends are past the point of getting annoyed and in it for the long haul.
You know who you are and I thank you.
Now why would I waste more time doing that then even blogging..or cleaning…or making dinner? Because its a chance to win 100K for college for my daughter, that’s why.
Out of nearly 3000 kids, Charlotte has never dipped out of the Top 50 thanks to everyone’s help. I really could not have done it so far without my community, my twitter account, my facebook, and the two mom groups I am a part of that vote for eachothers kids. But now I need my blog to push me to the end.
I need you.
Whats funny was that I hadn’t told charlotte about this competition the whole time. I was afraid to.
If she makes it to the Top 50, she wins a trip to Universal studios (so they can interview her, etc and pick a winner) in April and I could not bear the thought of disappointing her if I didn’t need to. Then my Dh said to me that this could be a learning experience to her on if you work hard, you can achieve something you want.
He had a point.
So today I sat her down and we had a talk about competition and hard work and even if she wanted to compete. I cant believe I didnt even consider her wanting or not wanting something. Her only question was if there was a trophy involved.
That girl wants a trophy.
We printed off fliers and went to all the neighbors to talk to them and ask for votes. She carried the fliers and put them on everyone’s doors and has been really involved since our talk. I should have trusted her more.
She put together this video for you..if you know her or you dont, please consider giving her 3 seconds of your time. Its a one click process if you are signed into facebook and if you are not or dont have an account, you can still vote by entering your email. That’s it. No registration, no emails from them, just one vote. (or two if your DH has one?)

I am mad at myself for getting myself into it but then I remind myself that she is why I do it. That I’m not going three weeks and stopping..not for a minute.
And I will NEVER EVER enter a voting contest again.
Every 24 hours you can revote…thank you for your consideration every day till next Wednesday. Where I will promptly be downing a shot and a sleeping pill.
