Charlottes sick. Again. (updated)

006

Updated dr information:

She has Strep Throat

ARGGGGGG! Monday….fever. Tuesday……..throwing up………….rest of the week normal child is back. Saturday comes she barely participates at gymnastics….she comes home and sleeps FOUR hours. Should have known then, right?

Sunday……..major fever. I’m lucky if I can get it at 102, its been between 103-104. I have tried the alternating Motrin and Tylenol…if she doesn’t throw it up within 10 minutes its a miracle, but it hasn’t been working. Cool bath did nothing but make her cry. Throwing up on and off the whole day. She hasn’t eaten a thing in 2 days. She threw up during the night a few times, got to change her sheets at 3am. FUN!!

Now she is on the couch bed looking like a pathetic sack of potatoes.

And this time, she has a dr appt at noon. They better do more than take my co-pay and charge me $29 for a popsicle.

  6. Angie says:

Poor thing. It’s hitting our house hard right now as well. Last week I had 2 down, then everyone was fine for a few days, and Saturday night it started all over again. The count right now is 3 down – 2 to go. (Unless you include hubby and I in that.) We’ve been dealing with the high fevers, the coughing, sneezing, throwing up…. uugggh. It’s just no fun.

May the cold and flu season get over QUICKLY.

  7. Tiffany says:

Aww, poor girl!! I hate it when they get so sick. You want to fix it, but you can’t! Hope she feels better soon!!!

  8. Sarah says:

There have been a lot of rotoviruses and flus going around. Here’s hoping they can give you a real answer and not just a bunch of smoke.

  9. I hope she feels better soon. Did you try suppositories (sp?) instead of Liquid Tylenol/Motrin. I give those when Holly is throwing up so I can get her fever lowered. They are over the counter but sometimes back with the pharmacist. I use a generic kind like Aceotomenaphin (Tylenol) and they work great.

  10. Wendy says:

So sorry to hear that she’s not feeling well. Try Emetrol for the throwing up. That stuff works wonders and it was a life saver during my pregnancy. Nothing worse than throwing up while you are 8 months pregnant!

  11. Poor baby! I so feel for you. Seems like we have been there for the past 3 months (btn 3 kids). I will send lots of well wishes your way.

  12. Sarah says:

Poor little girl! I hope she starts to feel better soon!

  13. Andrea says:

Oh man! Prolly just a virus. There are some nasty ones going around right now. I hope she feels better soon. Maybe they can give you a suppository to help her fever and throwing up.

  14. Bridgette says:

Poor baby! I know my pedi says that kids can easily replase with a stomach virus. Is she still complaining about her ears?

  15. Laurie says:

Hope Charlotte gets better soon! Hopefully the doctor has something to give her….sounds a bit like strep throat!

  16. Staci A says:

Poor thing, she looks miserable. Hope she feels better soon!

  17. She looks so weak! Keep us updated on what the doctor says.

  18. Suzanne says:

I just wrote about my usually very healthy kid being sick since Wednesday. He’s home today, too.

Poor Charlotte. Being sick is no fun.

  19. In ten years she’s going to say “mom I can’t believe you posted a picture on your blog of me with the puke bucket”. It breaks my heart when kids are sick.

Changing the bed at 3am totally sucks. I’ve actually put the fitted sheet on, put garbage bags (or something waterproof) in between, then put another fitted sheet on. Atleast all you have to do is strip one off when you’re half asleep.

I hope she is better soon!

Hope Charlotte feels better soon! Maybe take a cooler with your own popsicles to the doc this time?
