When you think of a Circus, many of us have memories of watching elephants, lion tamers and dancing poodles. But on my honeymoon, I got my first look at a very different type of circus, Cirque du Soleil. If you have ever had the opportunity to experience these performances, you know that they are nothing short of spectacular. This circus showcases amazing gymnasts, acrobats, and clowns of a very different type. It is a self-proclaimed “spectacle!”
The current Cirque du Soleil tour is called Saltimbanco. From the official website: “Saltimbanco is an intense, colorful celebration of diversity, joy and creativity. In an imaginary city, a crowd of colorful, nomadic characters gather to take you on a senses-defying acrobatic journey. Between the hustle and bustle of the street and the poetic heights of skyscrapers, the thrilling world of Saltimbanco awaits you.” If you live in the Houston area, you are in luck! I want to see Cirque du Soleil because I have been a huge fan of them FOREVER and have always wanted to, but circumstances always seem to conspire against me. Either they don’t come to the city I live in, or they come but I can’t afford tickets, or they come but I have to work or will be out of town on the dates they’re performing…
I have had to remain content all these years with DVDs, which my family LOVES and we watch often, but I am determined that this is the year my family FINALLY gets to see the show live.
It’s going to happen – I can feel it!

Oh my gosh! I would LOVE to see cirque du soleil. My half sister saw them a few years ago. Lucky, lucky girl. I live in Houston, TX and would be so lucky to be able to go. I’ll have to make my family go with me if they don’t want to haha but I’m sure they’ll want to. How can they not?

My husband and I love Cirque. We have seen Allegria and I got the DVD and soundtrack. Since having our twins, we have not had a chance to see another show when they come to town and we would love to see this one.
