Every woman, no matter what she does, or doesn’t do in life, comes to a point where she feels burnt out, broken, or just plain exhausted. Whether it is physical or emotional stress that has taken a toll on you, sometimes you just need a lift-me-up. There are many ways to cheer someone up, but when you are really feeling low, there is nothing like a stunning piece of jewelry to do the job. Here are some ideas for you (or your significant other) to indulge in when the time is right (and you will definitely know when that time has come.)
Pearls:
If you don’t own a pearl necklace, or pearl studs, now is the time. Nothing says “classy” more than pearls. Whether you are headed to work, to an evening out wearing a little black dress, or ready for your kid’s PTA meeting, pearls pull you together.
Diamonds:
Diamonds are girls’ best friends for a reason. It may sound cliché, but there is truly something almost hypnotic about the sparkling stone that makes women go nuts for them. To some ladies, jewelry just isn’t jewelry without the diamond bling factor. The beautiful gemstone does come with a costly price tag. However, depending on the size and overall quality of the diamond, some can be quite affordable. With the right setting, whether a necklace, pendant, bracelet, pair of earrings, or ring, the diamonds – whether fancy yellow, fancy blue or fancy red diamonds, can look larger and brighter than they actually are.
Colored Diamonds:
Some may not be familiar with the term “natural colored diamonds,” and simply think that they are diamonds that have been dyed. Though there are diamonds that have been artificially treated or enhanced, there is nothing like the real thing. From pink to yellow to green to brown, natural colored diamonds are found in the rough with distinct and beautiful colors. Colored diamonds have the better of two worlds in that they are diamonds, but they also are colored, which means they have more character and are more vibrant. Colored diamonds are almost always more valuable than colorless diamonds, but in addition to being beauties, they are wise investments. A jewelry piece such as a pendant with a pink diamond and blue diamond, or a pair of yellow diamond stud earrings, are the type of items that will be treasured forever. Their rarity and unusual look will draw more attention then you can imagine. If you are in the market for something truly special, colored diamonds are what you want.
Gemstones:
The great thing about gemstones, semi-precious and precious, is that there are so many options. There are the more expensive stones such as rubies, emeralds, and tanzanite, but there are also a wide selection of sapphires, topaz, aquamarine, amethyst, opal, onyx, garnet, and many others. There are gemstones in all colors, and they can be found in a variety of shapes and sizes. Many of these gemstones are birthstones, and it is always nice and sentimental to receive a jewelry piece with your birthstone. Gemstone jewelry can be delicate and formal, but it can also be clunky and more casual.
Silver, Gold, and Platinum:
Subtly can sometimes say more than flashiness ever will. This is especially true if you are petite, or simplistic by nature. A jewelry piece made from silver, gold, or platinum, can be just as alluring as one displaying various stones or jewels. However, these substances can also be used to create outlandish pieces if so desired. Silver is appropriate for those with a tight budget, but gold and platinum are more desirable in terms of looks, value, and durability. Gold can be found in a number of colors including white, yellow, and rose gold. Platinum is often mistaken for white gold, but is in fact more expensive and a stronger material. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings can be constructed in traditional, contemporary, or artistic styles, so the choices really are limitless.
Watches:
Yes, watches also qualify as jewelry. In fact, the right watch may just be the most beautiful piece of jewelry that you will ever own, and it’s not only pretty to look at; it serves a purpose too. Watches come in endless sizes, colors, shapes, and styles. If you are really looking for something special, go for the metal look, and if you have money to splurge, go for a gold watch. Or, to really spice things up, you can get a watch with diamonds. It doesn’t have to be completely encrusted with the sparkling stones, but rather, can have the diamonds surround the dial of the watch.
After a long day, week, month, year, wouldn’t you say sometimes you deserve a little something? Imagine coming home to a festively wrapped box and open it to discover a sparkling wonder staring back at you. Whether you are a “jewelry person” or not, having this beautiful piece to look forward to wearing will surely make getting through those tough days seem worth it.
How much jewelry do you own?

I LOVE my diamond jewelry, but I really really love my emeralds. While it is my birthstone, I love it because of the green. I have four emerald rings and a pair of emerald earrings. I also have pearl earrings, diamond earrings, of course my diamond wedding rings, an aquamarine ring, and a smoky topaz ring. While I don’t have a vast collection of gemstone jewelry, what I do have is very good quality.
