Reading has always been an important part of our bedtime routine with Lily. Every single night after bath time, Lily chooses a book and we both snuggle in her bed to read. I am hoping this will encourage her to pick up a book on her own and eventually instill a love of reading.
I think one of the best things about reading is that it forces you to use your imagination. Unlike a movie where everything is laid out before you, books encourage you to picture what the murder scene looks like, or what the title characters are wearing. You have to imagine what their accent must sound like or how they wear their hair. What a great gift to give your child!

My children love dinosaurs
My baby girl is brand new but i read to her all the time. i love that she looks at me while Im reading. That makes it important to me.
Dinosaurs are big around here. I love to read to the grandkids.
My granddaughter loves dinosaurs. We love reading because it takes us to wonderous places and journeys.

I find it is so important to read to my children! It is so beneficial in so many ways. Besides the quality time shared together, it is great for the imagination…you can imagine you are anyone, anywhere, doing anything! That’s fun! It is also important for language development, reading, speech and picture recognition, as well as countless other developmental areas!
2) Do your children like Dinosaurs?
My son loves dinosaurs so much! We go to the Dinosaur Museum pretty frequently! My daughter likes them but really loves dancing and princesses…;)
1) What do you are children like about reading?
My daughter loves getting cozy either tucked in bed or sitting on my lap for me to read her a great book! She also loves going to the bookshelves and choosing the 5 books I’ll read to her before bedtime…during the day she also loves to choose books throughout the day for some quick cuddle time and a story. It is a special part of our day, quiet time spent together, not doing anything else but enjoying a story together.
