Dyson DC17 vs. Dyson DC 25 (Vlogging Review)

Dyson DC 17 Animal Versus the Dyson DC 25 Animal

Recently I had a chance to review the new DC Animal 25 Vacuum with ball technology. I did a VLOG so you can see the differences between the current one I own and their brand new one. Unfortunately, I cut my head off in part of the video, but it was either cut off the vacuum or cut off my head, so I figured you can still hear me.

I discussed the difference between ball technology and without, canister size, weight differences, and more. Whether you go with a traditional Dyson or a Rollarball Dyson, you will not be disapointed.

The Dyson Animal is designed specifically for families with animals and allergies

The video is slightly long, but if you are looking for a serious purchase, watching it through may help you decide which vacuum is right for your family.

I’m so glad I found this video! Thank you for posting it :) I’m getting a Dyson tonight (yay!!) and have been torn between these two models. I have been using the vacuum I spent $70 on in college for 4 years; cannot WAIT to have one that actually does something! I think this convinced me to go for the DC 25. I was leaning towards that, but the fact that they are still priced the same made me think I had to be missing something. Any idea as to why they still cost the same? On that note, Best Buy has the best deal I could find on them right now ($439 for both models), in case anybody is in the market!

This was a really great video! I am about to buy a Dyson and I had it narrowed down to these two! Thanks so much for the information!

I was wondering which model would be better for our cat-hair coated home, and I can’t believe I immediately found a thorough review of that very same topic, done by someone with more cats than us.

    Thanks!

I just bought the 25 on Saturday! Love it!! Our 20+yr old Hoover died and I read LOTS of reviews from Consumer Reports to Sears to Target and others. I went into Sears to buy the Kenmore Progressive because it was cheaper (hey, anything will be better than a 20yr old vacuum!). But after the salesperson told me that with a Dyson, I wouldn’t have to buy expensive HEPA bags ($4ea) AND HEPA filters every 3 months ($20) AND a 5yr warranty ($69) to equal Dyson’s 5 yr guarantee, I bought the Dyson. More $$ now, but nothing more to buy, no more running out of bags, buying more filters. With Sears sale, it was only about $150 more than the Kenmore.

When I got it home, I (not dh) put it together quickly and easily, snap, snap! Super easy to move around, and I swear our carpet is cleaner! It was actually pretty disgusting how much hair and dirt picked up in such a small space! Ick.

I also liked reading about James Dyson, the inventor, about his efforts to bring this vacuum to market. As a mom inventor, I hope my products will be as successful and desired, but without as much struggling.

Yes I have a dyson and it’s the original Animal no ball. I’ve had it for 3.5 years and LOVE it. We have a 6.5 year old yellow lab so we get dog hair all over the carpet and hard wood floors all I use is my Dyson on both. Plus the mop on the hard wood floors

Our vaccum is a bissell. I think when this one takes on a dump on me I’ll be getting that purple Dyson Rollerball one. :) LOVE IT!

Thanks for the review and demo.

What kind of carpet do you guys have?

    No, I don’t have one… I’m soooooo jealous!

We bought our vacuum when we got married 12 years ago. The deciding factor when we bought it was that it was the cheapest model Wal-Mart carried!

We were newlyweds… in love, but dead broke!

We have the Dyson animal and the new one came out like a week after we got ours!!! But it’s ok I LOVE our vacuum!!! It picks up EVERYTHING!! The only annoying thing is the cord, it gets in the way! Oh and the tube thing that you can take off to get small areas doesn’t bend very well!! But clean up is soo much easier now!!

I had to laugh at the “husband that cleans not included!” Yeah, I want a dyson now. You saw that little dinky thing we’ve been using as a vacuum on my Christmas of Dreams entry.
