Mentioning taking surveys for money is a touchy subject online. Some online survey sites make promises and fall very short of that. Some that you can join require a credit card, this can be a huge pain. I’ve read some people had to cancel their entire card just so they would stop getting charged. Now that I’ve scared you away from most survey sites (lol), I want to introduce you to my favorite one.
SurveySpot
SurveySpot has never given me any troubles since joining it sometime late in 2006. Since then we’ve been able to have a pretty steady extra few bucks per month. (I’d recommend giving them a quick Google search to see all the positive reviews)
The minimum payout of $5 is easy to reach. You should be able to earn that in 1-3 surveys as most surveys are worth $3-5. Unfortunately they do not offer Paypal as a payment option, but you can send out for checks as soon as you get $5 if you want to.
SurveySpot also doesn’t need any personal information like a SSN (we had some questions with Logical Media) or credit card. SurveySpot never asks you to buy or pay for anything. When they send you products to try and review, they send it all to you free of charge to you.
I’ve also found that it seems the more surveys you take, the more they give you. Sometimes they have surveys that you can take and not get paid. I’ve found that sometimes by taking these, they then send me ones for cash.
My Earnings
I never like to promote anything unless I’ve personally been paid by it. With SurveySpot you can display your payment history, so I went ahead and took a screenshot of it.
Since my first check I’ve been able to earn $525. I can’t promise you getting rich by just taking surveys, but is a nice extra few bucks almost every month. Perfect help for any small bill you may have, in my case, the phone bill.

Yeah, after a few surveys you do get the idea of what will disqualify you. I don’t lie on them, I just exit out if it becomes clear I won’t qualify so I don’t waste my time. The best way to judge a survey site is to check out http://www.surveypolice.com and they rank the best ones.

Thanks for the comment and Im glad you like SurveySpot as well. Some people have complained about not qualifying, but after a while you can kind of tell a little bit better of what they are looking for. We’ve gotten several of those products as well, the most recent was a sunblock lotion.
I can second surveyspot! I early about $40 a month doing surveys there and have cashed out 8 checks from them so far. Like Matt said, you won’t get rich, but it’s some extra spending money if don’t mind sitting though mind numbing surveys. I’ve also gotten a lot of product tests from them (baby bottles, baby food, diaper rash cream, cereal, soap, lotion, and diapers just to name a few) After awhile you get a knack of knowing which surveys to take and which ones to skip. But if you skip all of the non-paying surveys you’ll miss the product tests.
