Emerald Grande Resort : Why Destin should be on your list

This weekend I had the privilege of being on property at the Emerald Grande resort. Although I have lived merely an hour from there most of my life, I never ventured far onto the island as our own beauty of Pensacola beach was more than enough.

Thankfully I took the chance to check it out.

It was absolutely one of the most beautiful locations I have ever seen and I was not surprised to learn that the Travel Channel had voted it “Best Beach for Families” this year already. Now when going on vacation to any destination you have tons of choices, but here are 5 reasons you should visit

Destins Emerald Grande Resort

1) Location, Location, Location.

We took some time to drive up and down the area and it’s clear the Emerald Grande has some of the best views of the entire area. Located directly off the bridge and in full view of boats that are anchored in the middle of the ocean, it sits in front of a dock of crystal emerald waters that go on forever.  Because the resort has huge towers and many types of rooms to book, the choice of your personal view is nearly unlimited. No matter whether you are overlooking the pool and special event areas or the hospitality suites that have amazing ocean and boat views, you wake up each morning to a true gift.

Room Types: 1, 2, 3 bedroom

Classic architecture blends harmoniously with the harbor front setting. All rooms have balconies with panoramic views of the emerald coast. With four different Condo-Hotel categories to accommodate families of all sizes, you’ll enjoy luxurious hotel accommodations that include custom-crafted furnishings and lavish baths, with a level of service that sets the standard for all other family resorts.

2) Park, Stay and Play!

I have visited a lot of locations and this was one of the first beach locations that you could park (free) and never have to leave. With a variety of activities, beach locations and luxury amenities your finger tips, you never had to leave to find something to do.

Although there were plenty of “adult” activities, there were also places for the kids to play on the HarborWalk as well. And newly upcoming this summer is the ZIP LINE!!

3) Good Food

You can drive up and down the beach for some local favorites like McGuires, but why?  The hotel itself boasts incredible food right at the Bar and Grille in front of the pool property and the Grande Vista restaurant and lounge area, but on the dock you can catch a great salad or burger for lunch at Harry T’s.

4) Water Activities!

Part of vacation is to get out there and enjoy the weather and you can do that for sure in Destin! Snorkeling, Snuba, Paddleboarding and Jet Skiing are all located right on property. While we did not get to experience Paddle Boarding due to the wind (safety first!), you have to stop by and say hi to Wade and do it if you can. He was amazing to talk to and truly loves showing visitors a memorable experience.

We also recommend the crew from Destin Snorkel. They take you out on a boat (where we saw dolphins along the way!) and you get to snorkel, snuba, or kayak. Its about a 3 hour adventure and they have someone with you every step of the way.  Its truly an amazing way to see Destin and all it has to offer on its beaches.

5) All of this:

Hi, y'all! If you got this far, awesome . I am assuming you want to know more about me. I am a *cough* 36 year old mom of 2 great kids, 6 rescue animals and proud wife of my high school sweetheart. This blog is my outlet and allows me to pretend I am a kid at heart. I get to play with glitter and glue, eat lots of sweets (its for the blog, I swear!) and connect with readers and friends. As a blogger I love to share with you- so the rundown is that I am currently reading this, using these for calmer bedtimes, giving away this, and suggesting here if you ever wanted to be a blogger yourself.

  1. I am sooooo glad you gals got to explore Destin with me. Now you know why I insist on calling this area home!

  2. Gosh I can’t believe how pretty that water is! We usually go to Marco Island when we vacation but Destin is on our bucket list. We were all set to go last month but our plans fell through. 3. Gosh it’s gorgeous! I need a vacation :)

  4. Seriously – case closed is totally appropriate. After experiencing Destin, I can’t WAIT to bring my son back here for a mommy/kiddo trip.

  5. I’ve been to Destin once (over 10 years ago!) and I can’t wait to take my family!
