Evenflo Exersaucer Giveaway

I have found recently that I have about 134 toys for Phoenyx. That is probably not even close to an exaggeration. And I dont have them for him, I have them for me since I have to play with them all day long too.

All.

Day.

Long.

When I actually want him to do something on his own, I have to strap him to something. You know what I mean…taking a shower, mopping the floor, sitting down for 3.4 seconds of commercial flipping. And when I put him in something, I want him to be busy, to be excited, to enjoy it.

Recently I had an opportunity to test out the Evenflo Jump and Learn Exersaucer. I was a bit skeptical when I got it, mainly because at 6 months old I thought no way he would have any clue how to jump in it.  It was cute, but I was thinking it was gonna be months before he understood what to do.

And true, the first time I put him in it he was like…OK, now what?

But I can say that I was wrong!

He picked it up quickly….here, check it out, this is his first week with it:

My thoughts as a parent

First of all, it does do what I need it to do: Entertain him. There are times that I really have to get something done and now that he can move across the floor, this keeps him in one spot and allows me to walk from place to place without worrying about him choking on a penny Charlotte left on the couch or something.

Secondly, not that he needs exercise at his age, but the jumping action of the Evenflo Jump and Learn does allow him to stretch his legs and muscles and learn control. He will be walking in the next few months and this is a great way for him to understand that he has the ability to decide where his legs go.

Third, he loves it. When you walk by him he gets all excited and starts jumping. It’s totally cute.

You can see that the exersaucer also has a variety of toys to keep him busy, all of which he has decided are teething toys and he chews on.

The downsides

As with all things, there is always a downside. This exersaucer is very large. Its not something you can just walk from room to room. You pretty much have to set it up and leave it there. We put it in our play room and I went to move it to my bedroom and there was maybe a half an inch, if that, to get it through the door way. I had to line it up perfectly to transport it. I did get it through, I had to take the top toys off (which was easy, they just unsnap). I now leave it in my room because I put him in it while I take a shower.
