I generally have my best ideas (the few there are) in the shower, and the idea for this article was no different. I was scrubbing down with a sugar scrub from Dr Sweet Tooth and I had the brilliant idea of entrecard hopping to find the next Fab Fifteen. Yes, I am the one who twittered a week or so ago saying I didn’t “get” entrecard, but I decided to remedy that situation. So, I started out on Life Starring Ellie and Eve and here are some of the cool sites my entrecard hopping led me to.

GDSOB (gosh darn son of a bum) that was a heck of a lot hopping, reading, hopping, and reading. I looked at and read through over 250 sites to find these and it took me a loooooooonnnngggg time.

Bookie Boo
No! I am not giving you a gambling site, this is a site where moms who are into fitness, weight loss and healthy living can hang out. A great way to find a community of people with the same goals as you. The fact that I was actually inspired to go take a hike after seeing this site should tell you something.
And here is where I ran into some problems after 30 cards…the next entrecard I tried to click on was a blocked URL. So, restarting I go directly to entrecard and start AGAIN…do you know how aggravating that was?
The Ad Master
I know that most of us like reading tips and tricks of the blogging trade and I found a lot here as I was browsing through. It is definitely a good site to look at if you are interested in blogging resources.
And here is were I hit a snag…again. After hopping through 10 more sites…I get to an entrecard and guess what??? It’s The Ad Master. Back to entrecard I go.

With a little bit of this and a little bit of that (all of which happens to be funny and/or interesting) this is a site to check out.

The Cool Mom Guide
Reviews, interesting commentary, and a Wii fit…what more do you need? Ok, how about this. I have been skeptical of the whole Wii Fit craze for a long time…but after reading some of Julie’s story, I am more inclined to think positively about the Wii Fit…I might even put it on my list of WANTS…right after a laptop and the Blogher Conference.
3 Kids and Us
I ran into a virtual baby shower at 3 Kids and Us and I liked what I saw. It almost makes me wish I were pregnant again and getting a baby shower…almost being the keyword. With reviews and giveaways along with tons of other neat stuff this is a site to add to your reader.
Mom Most Travelled
My idea of traveling is heading to the park…but CanCan has some different ideas. Combine fun product reviews with interesting commentary on traveling with kids and life in general and you have a great site to read.
The Junk Drawer- Humor for the Masses
Random, unordered and hysterical, this is the site for you to visit when you are feeling the need for a little giggle, a smile, or a full out belly laugh.
Life in a House of Blue
Apparently I like the mommy blogs…because here is another great one. With well written and informative reviews along with giveaways (oh yeah baby!) what more do you need? I can only say sorry about being out numbered…at least you know what my hubby feels like.

This site showcases stuff made by…wait for it…MOMS. With some seriously great looking products (I looooove stuff) and a place to list your blog, what more do you need? Make sure you have your credit card ready though, you’re going to need it!
The Story of a Princess and Her Hair
I’m a pretty sure you were here for Friday Night Live #666. This site makes me wish that Ellie (my daughter in case you didn’t know) had enough hair for me to practice on. It’s bookmarked and ready to go when her’s growns some. I showed my hubby and asked if he could do something like that to my hair…he made a huge knot.
Parenting Pink Blog
Ok, Yes I might have mentioned Parenting Pink before…but that was the main site…this is the blog. Come on, don’t tell me you have never wondered what a shrink would blog about. Well, here’s your answer: a little bit of this, a little bit of that and a lot of good reading.

This is a site where you are going to find all kind of neat little gifts, trinkets and things you are going to want to buy. I’d never heard of it before…weird I know…especially since we all know I know everything. There’s a lot of resources here for you to check out.

The sub-text says “a little bit of this, a little bit of that…” and that describes this site perfectly. There are product reviews, book reviews, giveaways and commentary…so definitely something for everyone here.

What I have learned entrecard hopping?
Marketing sites like to advertise together, there are a lot of birding blogs out there, after about 50 drops entrecard stops saying “Thank You” and moves to “Go! Go!”, there are a lot of talented (and untalented) people out there, I don’t care how cute you think your cat is…you should NEVER put a cat in a tutu and a birthday hat, some people have way too many blogs, lots of people like to put pictures of semi-naked people on their sites, people like to put their card up on a lot of sites simultaneously, I don’t understand really technical HTML coding, after about 100 drops you move from “Go! Go!” to “Alright!”, a lot of Adsense ads really make a site look like spam, etsy crafters have a lot of blogs, after 150 drops you move from “Alright!” to “Wicked!”, it bothers me when people run their own card on their own site(s), entrecard gets overloaded a lot, you should reach outside of your niche and post your card in different niche sites.

I haven’t done this in a while, will have to give it a shot again.
As for hosting your own card, if you don’t have anyone advertising on your site your own card is displayed – its not always intentional (I know on my blog that happened)
I try to do that when I have time in the mornings. I hop until I hit a dead end and start with the next blog with an Ecard on my reading list. I always thought that if someone’s Ecard was on their own site it meant they had no ads in queue. That’s happened to me once or twice.
I tried this once and ended up somewhere porny I think. I’ll definitely try it again – hopefully without all the snags and snarls you hit!
