Have you ever heard of Dunbar’s Number, or the Monkeysphere theory? Basically, it states that there’s only so many people that we as humans can possibly care about in society. Do you ever wonder what your teachers do when they’re not teaching, or your mailman, or the garbage guy, or some dude in pakistan? That’s because they’re outside your monkeysphere, and you have a harder time thinking of them as actual people with lives and dreams and a favorite flavor of ice cream.

If the USA took the money it gives to ANIMALS THAT DON’T MATTER, then maybe we could put a dent into “world hunger” (or, you know, they could go learn how to farm). No war = no jobs for the military members. What’s your answer for that? You’re an idiot. That’s my answer.
Before you go saying anything else, how about you go over to Africa for awhile and try to farm, then tell me how it goes. A good portion of Africa is a freaking desert. Also, it takes money to get the supplies to start a farm – money that those dying don’t even have. I highly doubt they would choose abject poverty and starvation over running a sustainable farm if they had the means of doing so. Last I checked, most people don’t want to die of hunger or diseases that could be cured if they had access to medicine.
Then there is the genocide and the diamond conflicts in some areas that make life there even harder to live. So do some research next time.
And the parts that aren’t desert, places like Zimbabwe (once known as the breadbasket of Africa) have been destroyed by their own leaders, like Mugabe. People in the west have had to rise up against despotic rulers (Napoleon, the Nazis, the British in America) why is it up to us to do it for Africans?

There are external pressures to keep Africa the way it is. And there were external pressure to leave it as weak as it was for the apartheid to rule during so much time.
