Fashion Tuesday On Wed: NOLA Studios, Mon 6th (closed)

I was so excited for Jen from NOLA MeadowStudios and The Posh Parent to offer a giveaway for Fashion Tuesdays. She makes wonderful pieces of jewelry and I was actually one of the lucky ones to win one when she had her big grand opening. I won the Tri-Affirmation Sterling Silver Necklace and the only time it leaves my neck is when I take a shower. I absolutely love all her pieces. I have gotten to know Jen through blog and email and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. I hope you all enjoy getting to know Jen as much as I have.

1. Congrats on being a MomDot Feature Boutique! Why don’t you start by introducing yourself to our readers!

Hello MomDot! I’m a 25 year old wife to DH, Dustin and lil monkey Boston. I’m a WAHM and love every minute of it!!

2. How did you get started in jewelry making?

I got started making jewelry when I was trying to find the classy but “everyday” piece of jewelry and couldn’t find what I wanted. So, I went to a few bead shoppes and have never looked back!

3. Can you give the MomDot readers a “sneak peek” into what’s coming up next for your business? Any new events, giveaways, promotions, etc.?

I’m doing a few things locally and I have a few giveaways going on now with Lipstick to Crayons, Centsible Mommy, and The Daily Planet

4. I love your jewelry as you know, I wear my necklace daily. Where do your design ideas come from?

Well, the new Nola Collection which includes Custom Glass Photo Pendants is influenced by my lil Boston as I wanted to wear a picture of him on my neck but didn’t want to a “slide the picture in” kind of deal. So what I have is a premium quality glass piece and the picture is place behind the glass and fused together.

5. Can you take us through the process of making a piece of your jewelry? What do you think sets you apart from other jewelry companies out there?

When making a new piece of jewelry, I always ask myself,”Would I wear this?” and if the answer is no then it’s simply toss it to the side. All of my pieces are something for the everyday mom that doesn’t have to string pearl or diamond to be classy! My glass pendant pieces are different and set my shoppe apart because most picture pendants are either slide in locket style or resin covered. My pendants are thick high quality glass.

6. What is the most rewarding aspect of your business? What about the challenges?

Most rewarding part about my job is I get to stay home with Boston. Other than that, it allows me to make all things pretty(which I LOVE!)

7. What one piece of advice would you give our readers if they are toying with the idea of starting an online business?

If you are passionate about it, you will succeed!

8. What are some of your favorite pieces from your collection?

My favorite pieces are the Tri-Affirmation necklace, The Glass Pendants, and The Not-So-Mother of Pearl Necklace!
