1. Congrats on being a MomDot Feature Blogger! Why don’t you start by introducing yourself to our readers!
Hey! Thanks for having me! My name is Jennifer Smith I am a wife, mom of 3 and I run two eco-businesses from my home; SCAeAdmin & Eco-Office Gals.
2. How did you arrive on the blogosphere? What got you interested in blogging?
I started blogging as part of my site, I heard it brought in traffic. After a few months of taking a little bit of time blogging and long weekends putting together e-newsletters that were being dumped into spam folders I gave up. I knew of other sites that were using feedburner for readers to subscribe and I decided to commit to blog only and try it out. I’m still new to it, but I am really enjoying it!
3. What are some of your favorite posts, ones that you’re the most proud of?
Why am I a GREEN VA?- Explains why I set myself apart from all the other wonderful VA’s out there.
My Green Roots – to my best friend… My most personal post to my BFF that died of colon cancer a year ago. Her cancer caused me to take a better look into the things I feed my family, clean the house with and it just spread from there!
4. How did you come up with the idea of “Growing Green“?
In my opinion, you have to grow green. Jumping in the deep end is as successful as a fad diet. Growing one step at a time makes you aware of what can be improved in your life and your business. Growing together gives everyone a chance to brag about the little steps that really DO make a difference.
5. What are some of your other favorite “Green” blogs?
The Good Human is great! Dave really makes a true effort.
Treehugger has a wealth of information.
Green & Clean Mom is a fun site for the green home routine.
6. We noticed on your blog that you love “80’s Hair Bands.” What are some of your favorites?
I am such an 80’s girl! I love Bon Jovi, Poison, Motley Crue, Skid Row, you name it!
7. Can you give the MomDot readers a “sneak peek” into what’s coming up next for your blog? Any new events, giveaways, interviews, etc.?
I do a monthly giveaway, always green related of course. Last month was a green office supply pack, this month is a ReJAVAnate bag, next month is coming up and I will announce my giveaway soon so don’t miss out!! Also, I am always searching the internet for green products, giveaways, free software etc. to help you grow your small business green. Of course I will also be offering my Green VA services. I have been tossing around the idea of giving away some of my services as a giveaway so be sure to keep visiting.
Grow Green!

I enjoyed reading all about Jennifer
We have alot of the same tastes in music. I’ll be visiting her site next!
I’ve been fortunate to know Jennifer, since she has done so much for me, in developing my blog, helping to promote my business, & most importantly, a friend. As a professional, I know that she is tops. She knew what I needed & supplied all of the knowledge to get me there. She is also teaching me how to run a green office, ( I thought everything had to be printed out, didn’t know that there was a ’save’ on my computer), plus, I’ve also started looking around my home, discovering ways that I could go green there. Thank you Jennifer, not only in your professionalism, but, your a gift to this ‘green earth’. As Always, Carolyn
Fun interview. I agree with the concept of ‘growing green’. I feel like I’m constantly getting better – getting greener!
But funny… When I read she was into ’80s hair bands’, I thought she meant scrunchies. Those big puffy ones that were made fun of on a sex and the city show once. Made me laugh.
My family has been growing green for several months now and it gets easier and easier in a lot of ways! And I’m a VA too! Take care,
So excited to see my interview! YEAH! Thanks for all the great feedback. Hope you will grow green with me!

I love the idea of “growing green.” It’s great to hear other people supporting the idea that it takes time to change a lifestyle, and that being green takes time and effort. Loved checking around her blog!

Yes! I love 80’s ‘hair bands’ too! They always bring back good memories – sigh!
You are so right – “going green” is not an all-or-nothing mentality – you have to grow into it, one step at a time. I love your site!
I agree with the baby steps! One step at a time to make it green!
I’m definitely “Growing Green”. One step at a time!
I need to take the baby steps also but it’s so hard when u are use to doing something one way and then changing it.
Oh my gosh, I’m an 80’s girl too! Looking forward to checking out your site!
