FLOR Giveaway: Design Freedom in the New Year $199(CLOSED)

If your anything like me, you know that decorating can take forever and often is very difficult to find patterns that really go in your home. I’m just now getting around the curtains and matching sheets and I am 30 years old. Breaking college habits are hard. Then when you have a child, it seems to take even more of a backseat.

When we discovered FLOR from our blogging friend Jaqueline, we knew it was a must have on MomDot with our readers, and a must have in our own home. What makes FLOR unique is that you don’t just buy a rug or a FLOR mat, you CREATE your carpet, customizable and limited only by your own imagination.

With the ability to buy individual tiles, you can create the exact look you want in your home. From funky and fresh, to stripes and squares, and even a way to bring your child’s room to life, the possibilities are endless with Flor.

About FLOR:

Launched in the spring of 2003 and based in Elmhurst, Illinois (just outside Chicago), FLOR is a line of design-inspired carpet squares for the home that lets you create unique area rugs, runners or wall-to-wall carpet designs quickly and easily.

The company was founded on the idea that carpet could be fun, stylish, practical and responsible. We think FLOR carpet tiles answer the call. The modular design means you can customize FLOR to fit any size space, even the most difficult layout, and take FLOR with you wherever you go. FLOR is also eco-friendly having some of the lowest Volatile Organic Compound emissions (VOCs) in the industry. Plus, FLOR comes in a wide variety of colors, patterns and textures so it gives you freedom to create exactly the right design for your room and your style.

One of Flors brand new designs, and best sellers, is the Tuxedo design. And we do love it as well!

But what we really, really fell in love with is their 5×7 Sea Grass rugs, available in either acorn/reed or brook/moon.

The Sea Grass Stripe Rug arranges broad bands of Velvet Twist tiles in natural, understated tones, creating a versatile accent that is clean and sophisticated. FLOR has done the work for you by providing pre-cut tiles for this design; all you have to do is assemble and enjoy. Available in three sizes and two color choices, each rug includes FLOR dots and a detailed rug map for quick and easy installation.  For a fun do-it-yourself project, download Rug Map 2 (below) and browse “Room Views” (to the left) for more ideas. Use pieces of Sea Grass Rug to create something new – cut and rearrange tiles to build this unique design, featured on The Martha Stewart Show!

In fact, if FLOR wanted to send one over to me, I would be happy to test it out! Goodness knows I have about 10 years of decorating I need to catch up with. One thing about having a house fire, is that the few things you have accumulated like that, are all gone and its the last thing you replace.

What we wanted to do is help you start your new year with the decorating bug and also show you this amazing site and how you can get your home up to speed.

My decorating would be relatively eclectic. My living room is very rustic, country in style. My family room is modern with a classic touch. And I have touches of “me” and my families’ style throughout. We have lots of color throughout the house as we painted the entire house within the last year! Love to decorate when I have the money and the time.

My house has all tile floors (we’re in the tropics) so it’s a constant struggle to find nice rugs to use in our house. I love the tile but I love the warmth of rugs too. I think FLOR would be a great addition to our home!

Having a 4 year old only child, our house is decorated like a toy store, LOL. As for furniture and decor, its a mixed up non-matching mess. We are waiting until my son is older to re-decorate.
