Give big while still feeling little financial impact…

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Now that the holidays are looming (oh yes they are, do not be in denial) its time to start figuring out the who's, whats, and where of your shopping adventures. Personally, I get really bad about buying stuff in the beginning thinking it will save me money and then in the end, buying tons more stuff.

I just like to give, what can I say?

While there are hoards of retailers you can purchase from, not all of them are wallet friendly and no matter your personal financial situation, everyone deserves to feel positive about their holiday gifts experience. In hopes to help you get started sooner and organize your gift giving, I wanted to share a bit about Kmarts Layaway program.

What IS layaway?

Layaway is a great way for you to select all your gifts now and pay a little bit at a time. I do not know about you, but going in and purchasing hundreds of dollars of gifts in one trip isn't hard to do and also makes my stomach turn. Kmart's layaway program is 8 weeks long (they also have a 12 week program). One of the differences between Kmart's Layaway and Walmarts is this actually. Walmart usually has a $15 fee, although redujced to $5 right now, but Kmart has free layaway !

Why would I choose layaway?

Why not?

It's so easy to pick out great products now and pay them down so the impact on your family is less. From clothes to toys to DVDs, I think layaway can be really helpful for famlies that need a longer period to get gifts under control.

Personally I would put something like this on layaway:

And le'ts not forget that layaway as the added benefit of keeping the toys HIDDEN.

In my house, my daughter finds things in like 10 seconds. Accidentally of course, but I don't have the money to just run out and buy new to keep the Christmas spirit alive! Little eyes, little fingers, and little wallets are my reason for using layaway!

How does Kmart's layaway stack up to other retailers?

  1. Layaway is so helpful since Owen’s birthday is a little over a month before Christmas. It helps stretch the gift budget we have for his birthday/Christmas. Owen would love a power wheel but we have no room for one lol. I’d probably put some of the Batman Imaginext on layaway (like the “houses” that he keeps asking for lol).

  2. Layaway was a godsend for me last Christmas!! I used Walmarts and without it Xmas wouldn’t have been the same. I wouldn’t have been able to afford it all. My son is a tween so all the things he wants are expensive and being a single mom, I plan on using layaway as often as i can!’

  3. I’d love to get my kids power wheels! I have no place to put them or anywhere really for them to ride that’s safe
