This morning Charlotte pulled out one of her new fall outfits from the Gymboree Fall line. I have been totally stoked about this outfit.
In fact, I have been waiting for it to get cold enough for her to wear it since July ended. Now cold to you, depending where you live, may be like 40. Cold to me is about 72 75.
Its somewhere around there temperature wise right now.
BINGO! Outfit time!
Plus, anytime there is a hat/sunglasses/ involved, I am all about an outfit-and so is Charlotte. If you cannot tell, she is one little Fashion icon around here. She certainly doesn’t get it from me.
I barely get out of jogging pants and a tank top.
So Charlotte pulls out her new clothes and then DH comes and bursts my bubble:
“There is a HOLE in the shirt.”
Wha, what?
Yep. A hole. Not even on the seam either, on the shirt like a finger hole. Or cigarette hole. On a Gymboree shirt. Dude. These shirts are EXPENSIVE. I don’t get to shop there every day. I am so bummed.
Of course I no longer have the receipt and Charlotte had already put it on, so what did we do to fix this hole?
We stapled it.
That’s quality parenting right there.

love the stapling ideas I can just imagine
I like his thinking! Since I don’t sew, I probably would have done something similar.
Oh I would have been super p’d! Trisha all the pictures you take of Charlotte are awesome! She is such a doll!
That is something I would do, especially if it was an outfit that was as looked forward too as this one!
That is too funny, not sure I even would have thought of stapling it, LOL. I used to LOVE Gymboree, when my son was younger…lets just say he had a huge collection of adorable and unique hats!
I have two words for you: FABRI-TAC. It will become your best friend for mishaps like this.
And LMAO @ stapling. My hubs would have likely done the same thing. LOL
You are so resourceful, Trisha.
Oh my! That’s hilarious! We love Gymboree and love the sale racks! The way they come out with new lines so often, we always get a good deal on in season clothes. I BET they would take the shirt back. Just take it to your local store and talk to them. They are so awesome and I’m sure they can tell if it’s the first time it’s been worn. If not, you’ve got yourself one nice play shirt that you won’t have to worry about getting a few stains on!
For the record, i taped it first and then stapled.
Hahahahah! I cannot believe you stapled it. At least sew it up a little.. haha! I want to see the staple job you did!
DH did it! I am sure he stapled spectacularly. LOL
I can’t believe you stapled it, lol! Gymboree clothes are so cute, but we go through clothes so fast, it’s not worth the price! Consignment sales have become my new best friend.
I can’t imagine 75 being cold. It was 44 when we woke up today, and that’s pretty mild.
whatever state you live in, i would MOVE. LOL!! Charlotte has stopped growing for a bit. I think we are in a long spell of the same size
Hahahaha that’s awesome. I would have stuck a sticker over it or something. And I’m with you on 75 being cold. I’m way out of place to be that big of a cold wuss – it’s only about 55 outside my house right now.
I’m wrapped in long sleeves and a hoodie!
i was thinking that soon i would be turning on the heat around here.
I don’t think Gymboree is worth it. But then again I have boys. I’ve never been happy with their quality. Chidrens Place and Target hold up much better. Sorry to hear it though. They have super cute girls clothes.
Lee
in our house, the quality lasts longer than target, although we buy both. This was my first hole experience, but it want a seem, it was an actual hole. I think someone tore the shirt and put it back on the shelf!
LMAO I’m SO glad I’m not the only one who has done this! When I was a server I had to wear black dress pants and the hem just kept coming out of them so I got tired of having to sew it and just stapled them.
Kas
too bad hairspray doesnt stop holes in shirts like it does panty hose.
Well that sucks! I don’t even know what I’d do…maybe try to ruin, errr I mean sew it back together!? lol She sure does look cute though in that little hat!
that picture w/ your DD in the bathtub fully clothes seriously gets me everytime.
LOL @ stapled it! I feel you though and i have noticed that Gymboree has very cute stuff but it does not hold up as good as i feel it should for the price. Yet again i don’t know if its because jada is just to rough on clothes or not which could be the case also LOL
i was checking out your situation with your daughter. School is so hard because its always them and us and back and forth with the right thing to do.
Thanks I seen your post. Oh you best believe she told them she was sorry LOl we had a parent teacher meeting and guess who else was right there! I got to post the update!! But it went great and she got a great review this week and SO DID THE TEACHERS FROM HER LOL!!!
GENIOUS!!!!!
it was so great of you to highlight those bloggers on your blog!
Thanks Trish! I’m a firm believer in spreading the Bloggy Love and try to do shout outs for all the amazing people I find along the way. That’s what it’s all about, right?
)
I’ve actually taped a shirt before, so don’t feel bad!! The outfit is adorable, hole or not. I’m really loving that hat! And dang, I need to move. I would love to live where 75 degrees is considered cold.
i was just on your site and that princess hair style is adorable!!!
You stapled it? LOL That is definitely one I have heard of.
We use to buy Kaydee the cutest outfits from Gymboree but realized we were burning buckos with the way she got them stained and grew out of them so quickly.
I know, i dont do it that often anymore either.
BTW, that video w/ the smiles..so sweet. Even if the teeth are gone again.
I cut a hole with my new kindergarten scissors in my brand new 70′s style rainbow turtleneck my mom had just bought me. My mom went and bought a totally unmatching rainbow striped patch, stuck it on with some kind of weird fabric glue and made me wear it like that…ughhhh lol
PS – Your daughter is adorable.
OMG, that is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(and thankyou)
