Happy New Year 2013!

Heeellllllllllloooooooooooo!

Wow. That is the longest vacation I have ever taken from my blog.

TWO WEEKS!

It’s ironic, but when you are a blogger you always feel like you have to blog. Like..if you don’t, no one will show up and your blog will shut down and you might as well hang it up if you want a minute off.  And while some of that is kinda true (no new content, yadda yadda) sometimes you also have to take a break too.

Over here we had a whirlwind Christmas. Chris went to visit his best friend in New Mexico (my gift to him for Christmas) and I spent 4.5 days alone with the kids wrapping presents, cleaning the house, and generally stabbing myself in the eyeball from exhaustion.  Nothing makes you appreciate your spouse more than 120 hours with your children sans break.

Then the day he flew in from his trip, we hopped in the car and went to visit our parents. As luck would have it, tornadoes hit the city on Christmas Day and we had to rush back so we were not driving through severe weather. Then, because the holiday were cut short with family, we had to go back up this past weekend to make up for some of the lost time.

I am so glad to be home now in my own house, my own bed, and nothing to do but concentrate on getting back to normal.  All I have to do is get Charlotte back into school and I can officially get started back with 2013 in full swing.

This year I am excited to be concentrating on plenty of new content, great brand work, and getting to know more bloggers! Therefore if you are not a part of the Mom Dot Forums, please consider joining. In addition to the wonderful learning and chat we have on the forums, I am also a co-host to a great training site with articles for new bloggers over at Top Mom Blogger. And for organization done right, don’t forget to check out the Blogging Planner. Last, but not least, some fantastic programs coming this year for bloggers with Brandfluential around the Feb time frame so  make sure you are on the mailing list for new campaigns.

  1. I took 12 days off and I am having a hard time getting back to work now.

  2. Hi Trisha, I saw your previous blog about your daughters image being used by a china import company(aliexpress). A friend had sent me a link to my daughters image which is all over their site. The photo was taken by my photographer and watermarked. I have a shop on etsy where I make girls accesories and they copied her image and cropped out the watermark, copied my headband and are now mass producing it. We have tried to contact the company but we just get a voicemail. If you have any info or advice I would greatly appreciate it. Tara :(

    • Tara, I went to the website that was doing the copying and got on thier chat and then told them to take it down. (I htink I put that in the post). They did remove it, but other than that I am not sure how much luck you can have out of the US. One thing I can recommend is calling the hoster for the website your daughters images are on and file what is called a DCMA. Its very easy to type up and will show the hoster the image belongs to you and is illegally displayed. AT the very least they will remove it from the website. If you email me the URL I can tell you the host. (trisha@Momdot.com)
