Hey Mom…can I have this?

This is gutter kitty. He lives in the gutter.

He is nicer than my own kitties. Possibly because he is grateful for any amount of attention.

But probably because he is a dropped off kitty that someone used to own.  He cant be more than a year old, if that. Charlotte is in love with him.

Truth be told, we all are, but we have four {rescued} babies already.

I just dont know what to do with him. My heart aches that he is outside  living on the streets and is a perfect pet for a family, but if I take him to a pound, he could be spending life in a cage- or worse.

There is a special place in hades for people who abuse pets like this.

  1. I say take him in!! Especially if he is so sweet. He looks like a Russian Blue, and they are usually very sweet and loyal kitties. I was once a pet mommy to a Russian Blue.

I have five rescued and adopted babies (pets) myself. It’s SO hard to not take more in when I see hungry, hurt, or homeless animals. I have always been an animal lover above all else. I love animals more than people! I’ve been that way since I was teeny tiny. I did have to stop at five regardless of that fact, though, because my monthly pet supply budget is astronomical! I just flat out can’t afford to rescue and/or adopt anymore because of that.

We seriously would, but we have four kitties and its too many. We had five till one passed away from kidney failure, and DH said no more till these pass…

One of ours has only 3 legs and we are still paying off his amputation (cancer survivor) and obviously 4 cats are already super expensive…

He is in my backyard though. I am feeding him and gave him a box and a blankie to sleep on on my back porch.

My heart loves him. I just need to find him a forever home.

      • I hear you. I have three cats and two large breed dogs. One is 75 pounds and the other, my puppy, is 40 pounds. My puppy is going to be around 90 pounds full grown, though. It was costly enough when all I have was my three cats. My two big dogs eat A LOT! My pet budget is just insane. So, I honestly just could not afford to take in more in. So, I totally get you. And my five babies are healthy. If any of them ever has any health issues, God forbid, I will be in deep financial doo doo.

Oh Gutter kitty looks just like my big kitty…at least part Russian Blue and they make such wonderful pets. Really loving and gentle. They do ‘talk’…a lot.

  5. Victoria says:

    KEEP HIM KEEP HIM

You have to imagine me chanting this, like a fraternity member.

Oh he is such a sweet kitty! I understand you angst at taking on another kitty, we have 4 kitties ourselves too and feel like we’ve maxed out rescuing cats but I know how your heart wants to take him on too! It’s so hard, we don’t want to turn into cat hoarders! LOL
Good Luck with whatever you decide!

    poor kitty

  8. poor guy… I hate people who abandon their animals too…
does he stay all day & night? or could he live near by & just visit?
We have a no kill shelter about 20 miles away… and they are flooded, esp this time of year with babies.. when ever I know I am going in the area I take old towels & cleaning stuff for them.

sometimes vet will do neuters for a reduced or free service if they know it is going to a loving home.

    good Luck!

  9. SO Prrrrr ettyy Kitty!! I used have a Meow Meow just like that when I was a kid. Called him goldie. LOL dont’ ask why.

  11. Amber says:

    Poor kitty.

We are a big fan of cats but I don’t think I could handle another one.

  12. Caroline says:

Hee hee, I don’t have to tell you what I think you should do…keep him! LOL :)

    • Trisha-admin says:

I knew you would say that! I actually would consider it more if it didnt require fixing him and giving him shots (probably $300) before I could introduce him to my pets. I just dont have those funds right now. We are still paying off sebastians surgery.

  13. Deborah says:

    Looks like a friendly kitty.

  14. Henrietta says:

He’s gorgeous! I agree with the others, what’s another cat? :)

  15. Rob says:

WOW. That is a tough decision. Looks like Charlotte is having a great time with the kitty though. Hope everything works out.
