I know, we are vaccuum extraordinaires around here! We always have the scoop on the best vaccuum on the market and this month we are working with Hoover and we are THRILLED.
I have five cats. Five cats + 1 DH + 1 child = DISASTER for your carpet. If I told you how many times I vacuum a week, you wouldn’t believe me. So for our family to have a STRONG reliable vacuum is a worthwhile investment.
Now you may be wondering why we are offering a Bagged vaccuum over a Bagless vaccum. The fact is, there are plenty of reasons why a family would prefer a bag over a bagless and in our past vaccuum giveaways, we have heard from people that want something that has a bag. And hoover was happy to oblige.
There is a lot of discussion on which type of vaccuum is better and most companies offer both now a days. The truth is, its a preference. Checking out the direct a bagless vaccuum picks up may make cleaning more intereting, but for some, supplies an endless amount of dust, dander, and pet fur that circulates in the air once the canister needs to be emptied. With a bagged vacuum, everything you pick up stays sealed-right where you want it.
And if you have ever messed with a Hepa filter on the many bagless vaccuums out there, you also know that that they can be dirty, stinky, and requiring change quite often to get their full usage out of. Many people say that keeping a regular bagged vaccuum is the actually the best way to keep your house clean, as well as dirt and dust free.
What we believe is the most important thing is having a vacuum that WORKS and works WELL. As parents, we don’t want to even imagine the things that are left in our carpet after walking over, and pets sleeping, and bugs, and hair and gosh knows what else. Then we let our infant sit, sleep, and play right on the carpet.
Hoover has recently come out with a Platinum line of Vacuums worth their weight and we happen to have the inside scoop with their handvac, stick vac, and ultra amazing lightweight Bagged upright and portable canister vac!

Hoover has definitely packaged this as a true Platinum deal.
CONTEST
Now we know that there are presents out there that you received over the holidays (or at any time in your life) that…well…..were probably not so great. An ugly swear, a gift card to the Army/Navy store…..or maybe nothing at all?
What we want to do is trade our Platinum Lightweight Bagged Upright and Portable Canister worth $399 in exchange for your worst present (virtually of course). How is that to make the season bright? Plus, starting off the new year where you can clean from top to bottom, is a wonderful way to feel fresh. Out with the old…in with the new.
1) To win, first head over to Hoover and let us know another product on their page you love. We want Hoover to know their favorite products by consumers!
2) Then, let us know the worst gift you have ever received…if it was this holiday, or a birthday 10 years ago, we want to hear the very worst gift. We encourage pictures of your worst gifts and then link back in the comments.
This can be done in the SAME comment each time, no need for separate one as this will not be a random.org contest.
We will narrow down the top 20 worst gifts on Jan 29th and put up a poll right on momdot where our users can vote for the person that should receive the brand new vacuum.
You may enter as many times as you want, as long as you complete both steps along the way. Now is a time to celebrate all those times your mother in law bought you a thong…….and oh, yes she did one year.

ps we would completely appreciate a tweet or blog post about this contest

the worst gift ??? IS NO gift….
The Impulse Cordless Power Mop looks great. The worst gift I ever received was a set of tumblers that appeared to be used and had an ugly brown and orange flower pattern on them!
The conquest 14 bagged vacuum!
The worst gift? Power Puff Girls’ Puzzle. It wasn’t so much the gift itself (I was about 12 at the time and hated PPG) it was that I couldn’t quite pull off the polite receiving of the gift. I’ve always been aware of this and the sweet girl who gave it to me was 3.
I STILL feel embarrassed thinking about it.
I like the all-terrain. Thanx for the contest.
The Windfunnell bagless seems like a great product.
I like the WindTunnel Cyclonic. The worst gift I ever received was a chewed up stuffed animal.
I also love the Hoover SteamVac Dual-V Widepath for those horrible dingy carpet tracks that just wont come out.
The worst present I’ve ever received was nothing at all. Seriously…when I turned 31 a few years back it was like everyone forgot. No one woke and told me “Happy Birthday”, no one treated me extra special and no one ever thought to buy me a simple little cupcake for my B-Day. It wasn’t until late that night (after I had already turned in for the night) that my hubby came in, woke me and said, “happy birthday, sorry I forgot”. That was it though; nothing more nothing less and there wasn’t even a make up cake the day after.
Would love to be entered…count me in!!!

I like the WindTunnel Bagless Canister. The worst gift I’ve ever recvd was a very FLUFFY sweater that looked absolutely horrible on me.
I really like their windtunnel bagless canister vacuum.
The worst gift I ever got was a gaudy rhinestone necklace.
I like their windtunnel bagless canister vac.
My worst gift has to be a huge fruitcake given to me by some friends.
I love the Flair Bagless with the Powered Nozzel. The worse gift that I ever got was a bathrobe that was a size 20 and I wore a size 6. Thanks for a great giveaway!
I would like the Hand Held Wet/Dry Hand Vac. Worst gift probably clothes I never wore that were wrong size, wrong style, wrong color and just wrong. For instance, the white tight sweater dress.
The Impulse Cordless Power Mop would be an excellant stress reliever for the tiled and laminated surfaces that our puppies like to track upon. And the worst gift… can’t forget the holiday we received fruitcake – and being tempted to “regift” it back
The Self-Propelled Wind Tunnel Vaccuum…awesome! As for the worst gift ever…probably when my mother in law bought me lingerie for my birthday…ugh!
The All-Terrain Steam Vac!
I’d also love to own their carpet cleaner. The worst gift ever received was an ugly chip and dip bowl.
Thanks for having the wonderful giveaway
Sweet
The Platinum Light Bagged Upright is something I would like to try. Doesn’t Hoover have special units to handle pet hair?
I’ve been very fortunate in that I don’t get ‘bad’ gifts. My family is very thoughtful. However, when I was in my teens, my parents gave me an accordion for Christmas. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love music and respect any musician and instrument. But, I didn’t play an accordion and couldn’t figure out how I would play Creedance Clearwater Revival on an accordion. Can you imagine? Now, I feel guilty for even mentioning this.
