I am a bad, bad parent

Charlotte got her head stuck in one of those look through wood things at the zoo today. Instead of looking through it, she put her head all the way in.

And got stuck.

The best part?

We were all standing off to the side not really paying attention and she was too embarrassed to ask for help. Then my dad looks over and sees her and she got really upset because her pride was hurt.

He had to finagle her out of it.

What do I do?

Take a picture of course.

My parents told me if I posted this it would live on the internet for infinity and when she was 18, she would get to see it again.

I personally think that’s the best part.

  4. LOL. Ah never a dull moment. I’ve had moments like this also. And yup like you I took a photo. Personally I think we’re good moms for capturing these special moments.

LOL! I would do the same thing. She looks so defeated-like “damn, I guess I DO need some help getting my head out of this thing!”. Poor girl!

What was it? Sort of looks like a giant butterfly.

My kids have freakishly large heads for their ages. We’ve had that happen a time or 2.

  9. OH poor thing. The zoo should really look into that so that it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I’m sure in a few days she’ll look back and that and say “remember that day my head got stuck and…” LOL

I think the funniest part of it all is the look of calm on her face. As if she is like “Yes, Mom – I know you are taking a picture. I am soooo going to get you back when I am 16.”
I just found you today – am a fan – thank you for the laugh.

I’m glad she got out – but she probably realizes she got herself into something, and will not live down the picture for a long time.

It doesn’t make you a bad parent, Trisha! You’ve preserved a memory for a lifetime.

  19. Look at that hurt look on her face! LOL! Of course, I would have taken a picture too!

  20. Oh my gosh. I just literally laughed my ass off! I showed my parents too and they loved it! This is one of those photos you put in her senior yearbook! LOL
