I am horrified at myself

Today I went shopping. I still have another few meetings to attend that I want to look snazified for and I really could use some non-internet time, so I headed out to Ross. While I love discount stores because of all the great brand names, I always have a hard time finding my size. Sometimes it feels like it all starts at size ‘4′ and that’s a few inches on the too big side for my frame.

What can I say..I lay off the cheeseburgers.

After trying on many, many things I was starting to feel defeated till I put on this adorable brown shirt with ruffles on the front and a nice mandarin collar. I had it on all of 3 seconds before I decided I loved it and it would be my lone purchase-and for $9.99 it was a deal!

So I am standing in line (waiting for the lady in front of me to stop screwing around long enough to check out) and start inspecting the shirt. Since I liked it so much, I pulled out the shirt tag to check the brand. Maybe I could buy more!

SweetLilly….maternity.

Maternity.

so that’s what those back ties were for.

The sad part was I stood there and considered still buying it for a brief moment before walking it back to a rack.

A girl has to have her standards.

Ok I wouldn’t have bought it, either, BUT I would’ve felt that shirt burning a hole in my pocket and had to find something else.

I wore an old maternity shirt to my MIL’s viewing. I had to come up with something that was NOT lavender or purple (my favorite color), as it was commanded by my less than nice SIL & BIL.

    No one knew the difference.

Don’t you hate that? That’s right up there with finding the perfect pair of shoes, but just needing the next size and they don’t have it! I swear people who manufacture women’s clothing and shoes love to torture us all.

Maybe its a sign!? I kid, I Kid…I saw your other post. I admit I have 1 maternity shirt I still *occasionally* wear and there is no way to tell it is maternity, it is even super low cut. But, I would not of bought it either.
