I did a bad, bad thing yesterday: I went shopping

[private]

A long, long time ago, when the government was fronting our bills via the military (LOL), I shopped at gymboree like it was the only kids clothing out there. The one thing i can say in my favor, is i always shopped clearance racks and my daughter is the “big” girl, and that was one place that things fit her like the tags said. I cant stand going to places with 15 brands and I buy all a size 4 and some are HUGE and some are so tiny, we cant even pull them on. Sometimes I think kids clothes are worse then women’s clothes.

But then we moved here and NO GYMBOREE. I almost had a heart attack. I don’t mind buying from wherever for Charlotte, its probably more cost effective on my wallet to not shop 4 times a month there, but now one is an hour away in Mississippi and one is like 40 minutes half way to Pensacola, Florida. I have probably waisted $50 this year in clothing that does not fit her that I bought from other places with FAKE sizing tags on them, imho.

Yesterday, I was forced to go up to the stores about 40 min from here to get some crafting supplies my local po-dunk town didn’t have. While I was up there, I thought I would just stop by and “look”.

I looked this adorable blue sweater and leggings set right into my basket:

As I am checking out, I’m spilling my Gymbo plight with the girl and she sings music to my ears…….THEY JUST OPENED ONE IN MOBILE.

WHAT?!?!

What is a girl to do but head over there RIGHT NOW and see what they have. AND the corporation sent them several boxes of clothing out of season wrongly, so *clearance* galore.

Ninety *Cough* Dollars *Cough* later, my daughter couldn’t look more gorgeous today

But I’m not sure I can feed the cats this month. Oh well, we have too many anyways.

LOL better the cats than the people that go hungry imo. Gymboree does have nice clothes that last if I can find boy stuff that doesn’t look like it hit every branch of the fugly tree. I swear when I was looking for stuff last Easter, I was set if I wanted my boys to look like 1970′s golfers. The Children’s Place and their fleece lined jeans for my boys are my winter splurge. They’re great for my toddler when we take my 7yo to the bus stop. The Children’s Place are the ONLY jeans my boys haven’t worn the knees out of either.

Discuss? What is this discuss thing you speak of. I shop, you say awww, how cute.

    There, discussed.

    Stop reading my blog.

  4. Chris (MomDot DH) says:

$90 ?????? What we didn’t discuss that you spent that much. Now I know why you never told me the total. Atleast she looks close. And yeas Charlotte was Gymboree from head to toe when she was born. Over the summer her gymnastics school used to call her the girl that never wore the same thing twice.

I also love Gymboree. The clothes are so well made, much better than other lines of children’s clothing, and having to boys lets us save a little money from the bit of extra we spend on their quality clothing. I only shop their sales, too, especially when there are Gymbucks to be had. I am a little envious of those moms with girls, though, because their girls’ clothing line is simply adorable.

  6. Adorable as always!

  7. I love Gymboree! I only shop the clearance as well because my daughter will only where things for a few months before she grows out of it. We have the apple purse that goes with that collection. Charlotte looks too adorable!!

  8. Trish says:

OM that outfit is adorable! I love it. We love gymboree too, but grammy shops there for the clothes! :)

  9. hipmom3 says:

    so cute!

  10. Charlotte looks so pretty!

I have a major love of Gymboree as well. But I refuse to let myself shop there unless there is a huge sale or Gymbucks going on.

  11. Wendy says:

Totally worth the money! I went crazy in their online store a few weeks ago because I just had to use my Gymboree bucks. On top of fitting well, the clothes are made well too!

  12. Mommy Zabs says:

oh gosh she is simply precious!!! Love the apple outfit!

  13. Erin says:

LMAO about the cats. But it’s worth it. You have to make sacrifices for style.

  14. Staci A says:

She looks adorable! It sounds like you got quite a bit for the money. I’ve never been to a Gymboree, I have no idea how far we’d have to go to find one. Sounds like you’ll be lucky finding good deals nearby now.

  15. Andrea says:

OOoooohhhh you are in trouble now! LOL She does look cute as a button though. I wish they had cute stuff for boys too, but I never like the boy lines.

  16. Angie says:

She is absolutely adorable!! I love that outfit!

And, I SO feel your pain. We moved from Ohio to the North Georgia Mountains last year. We used to have a Walmart on every corner. Now we have to drive 45 minutes up into North Carolina to find the nearest Walmart. And, if we want a mall? Good gosh – we have to drive over 2 hours to get to one! If there’s anything I miss most, it’s shopping. Of course, that’s about the only thing I miss about Ohio.

It has saved us money not being near ANY kind of shopping, but I have gotten way too good at buying things online.

  17. Alicia:admin says:

You got a ton for the $ you spent. You did well, Mama!

  18. Trisha-admin says:

I actually got all that that she is wearing, matching hair bows, another dress, socks, leggins, sweater shirt, and i think something else….i got a lot of stuff actually! Im not a bad shopper, but i was having TOO MUCH fun.

  19. She looks adorable! Too cute. I love the outfit. I also love Gymboree but I get Grandma to shop there for me! LOL

  20. Alicia:admin says:

    Charlotte looks too pretty, Trisha!

Just gorgeous, and you could’ve spent a ton more ya know?
