I feel like a jerk.

jerk-burgundyI have been sitting here waiting for an important conference call and training class over the phone and they sent me the number, the loggin info,  for “11a.m.”. I sign in at 11a.m. and the call doesn’t work.

Then I go email them to find out that it was 11 EASTERN. I missed it by one hour. The sad part was that I was sitting here the whole time they were doing the call.

Crap. Crap. Crap.

Isn’t it the state of Arizona that doesn’t do the time changes in the fall back, spring forward stuff too. I always know eastern time is two hours ahead of me, but I often forget about central time only being one hour ahead of me. Hubby is my reference tool for such things, he knows about all those time zones, as well as military time etc..

Time zones make me crazy too. Try living in a time zone that doesn’t change time. During the Fall and Winter months I have to think about what time my family lives in and then during the Spring and Summer we are in the same time zone. It’s wacky!

Yeah, I totally did that once. Only I thought they were going to call me, so I sat next to the phone and waited. Turns out I was supposed to call in myself. Oops!

Unfortunately, it happens. I had a scheduled interview with a source for an article last week. My Dad called and I got tied up on the phone; when I got off I saw the reminder on my LT! I’d missed the phone interview.

I emailed her to reschedule but she wasn’t available again until that evening and the article was to be turned in that day.

It happens. I felt embarrassed and unprofessional but I knew it was one of those things that happens on a rare occasion.

    Hang Tight!
