So sorry! Our first baby, a gray kitty named Maggie, passed in July. She was 10 years old. In June she started throwing up hairballs very frequently, then food. We took her in and after tests was told it was a large hairball and that it passed. Come July she was no better. We had gone on a 4 day vacation and left her home to find her very thin when we got home, had not eaten much. Took her to the vet on a Friday and had to leave her the weekend for more tests. Monday was exploratory surgery, we got to see her for about 15 minutes in the morning. Surgery revealed a huge mass with too many blood sources to battle. We had her put under while still anesthesized. It was the HARDEST THING! I don’t really feel we got to say goodbye, she spent 6 of her last 7 days alone. 4 at home and 2 in a vet cage. Tears me up. Wow, that was so hard to watch but am glad you did it.
We are hugging out pets and am very grateful to have them still with us.

I’m sorry Trisha….you can tell he was so very much loved. We’ve had our cat since Jan 1 2000, he was only 4 months old and we aren’t sure he has much time left hugs to all of you.

It is amazing how such a little piece of “fluff” can become so much a part of the family. He’s so precious and I am so sorry you have to tell him goodbye.

Trisha I’m so sorry. I don’t comment much, but I love reading your blog, and this just broke my heart. I’m typing this with tears running down my face. Keep it in your heart that you gave him a wonderful life and he knows he was very much loved. Healing hugs to you and your family.
I’m teary eyed for your family. It is so very hard when you have to make those decisions. I had to make one for my little Lili dog a few years back.
They truly are like your baby’s. I won’t say it gets easier as the years go by, it’s just you learn to focus on other things. Yet, memories of them will pop up from time to time, less frequently of course as time goes by, but still as heart felt.
Your family, you, your precious cat are all in my prayers.

This really made my cry.. Trisha I love you, Chris, and Charlotte. Bastian is one of the sweetest and lovable cats I have ever met.. there were many days we would sit and cuddle on the couch.. =’[ He will be extremely missed. You guys have given him the best life he could ever have.

Oh Trisha, I know how you feel my dog Daisy died the other night. She was my first baby who was 11 years old and my buddy because she followed me everywhere. I will be thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs because I know how you feel right now.

Sending thoughts, prayers and hugs your way. Tears in my eyes here. So sorry for you and your family. Six years ago in July I lost my cockatoo Moose. Birds never show signs of illness. By the time we knew Moose was sick we tried to find a vet, but nobody wanted to see a parrot. As we were starting the car to see the vet, my precious baby Moose had a heart attack and died in my lap. It was a mixed blessing. Since I was so upset we canceled a trip the next day. That was the day my son had a febrile seizure and stopped breathing. I truly believe that Moose saved 11 month old son’s life. May you always remember the special times that you had with Sebastian over the years and not these hard last few days.
