*Interesting* Review Opportunity..should I take it?

We all get review inquiries quite often as a blogger. Its one thing that can be fun, especially if its a product you have been wanting to try. Every now and then Ill get a product of something that falls in the “Things that make you go Hmm” category.

When I first got this product opp, I did a double take.

No.

Cant be.

Really?

Women do this?

*immature giggles*

But then the girls on the MomDot forum completely assured me that not only do women do this, and use these, but that even a few use them themselves..and have written pretty convincing articles about them.

Where the hell have I been?

So………here it is.

The reusable Menstrual Pad. (Simultaneously the men that are visiting momdot are now packing up and leaving right now.)

Trust me, it wierded me out just as much as you.

Now…here are my thoughts. Arn’t you the slightest bit even CURIOUS about it? I have to admit I am after hearing some of the reasons why you would use this. Its not like tampons like to stay in place after that whole childbirth scenario (i know, tmi, tmi).

What do you think…….would you be totally FREAKED OUT if I did a review on this? It would require me talking about, dum dum dum dummmmmmm, AF. Would anyone want to read a review or have a giveaway on this on our site if I set it up?

I think you should do it *if* you feel comfortable doing it. Like the others have said not everyone is going to be interested in every review you do.

Absolutely!!! I’m a cloth diapering mama so cloth pads wasn’t that far of a step for me :) Obviously it won’t be for everyone, but realistically you’ll never get a review or giveaway that meets EVERYONE’s likes/wants/needs that comes here.

I belong to a forum where a number of women use these and like them. Some even use another item called a “Diva Cup” which, to me, has even more of an “ick” factor. I know it’s a natural fact of female life, and discussing some pretty gross stuff doesn’t usually bother me, but certain, er, aspects of it seem more “ick” than others. I, for one, am old enough to remember and to have used the old pads where you had to hook them to a little belt with tabs and pray that nothing shifted. The pads were NOT leakproof by any means. The modern pads with the leak resistant liner on the back are so much more efficient, I would have to be desperate, or like the earlier commentor, allergic, to use these regularly.

It’s not my cup of tea, but that is because I don’t use pads, but I have known many women who use them and love them.

  11. Laurie says:

I would totally go for it! Why making something taboo that is part of nature. Too many people get caught with that sometimes I think. You can talk about it and be very professional about it. No worse than an Always commercial.

I’m curious about the product. You’re right, it does have an ewwwwww factor to it, but I think you’re ok as long as you don’t give away the ones you tested for the review ;)

Totally! Do it! (I have to admit I’m a little jealous!) I’ve been in the process of making them myself for the past couple of months because I can’t afford to buy them.

I have a latex allergy and most women don’t realize that almost ALL PADS…EVEN 7th Generation have LATEX in them. The only exception that I know about is Natracare pads. And have you priced them lately? I have. Because I have to buy them. And they’re expensive. (Try putting $6 down the next time you want TEN overnight pads for your heavy days!) Pick your jaw up off the floor. It’s okay. I promise…thanks to cloth!

    PLEASE…do a review…AND a giveaway! I want to win!

    @ CanCan (Mom Most Traveled):
Oh, i would do it respectfully, I am a business owner myself! But it does have an ewe factor (she did admit that to me in email too) and I didnt want everyone to go OH TRISHA PUT IT AWAY. LOL!

  17. I have been interested to try these.

Keep in mine that it is someone’s business, so it might be best not to review it if it can’t be done respectfully.

I would feel bad if I had a cottage industry, offered my products to review to blogs, and instead of good PR, I was mocked.

I use cloth diapers and cloth wipes for my baby, so why not for AF? Even though she hasn’t visited me since 2004, if she ever comes back, maybe she and I might be cozy with some flannel pads.
